Dare I say it, we may have to win an away match or two to stay clear of the bottom three.

(Wolves, Newcastle, West Brom, Stoke, Wigan, Sunderland, Arsenal, Swansea, Chelsea, Norwich).

Between 21st December and Jan 2nd we play Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal...

Merry Christmas and a Happy New year everyone  :58:

That's a tough sequence.

I just hope that come Boxing Day we are not in the same position as we were last time around.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and dispute the "nasty" fixtures.

We've not lost at home to United in the league for 3 seasons running (W, W, D)

We've only lost once in the league at home to Spurs in donkeys years (W, D, D)

Liverpool tore us apart last season but we won't make the same mistake again. (L,W,L)

Hmm, I was literally just looking at our fixture list and thinking how potentially kind it was.

Fancy anyone at the cottage and don't face any 'big' teams away until the end of November.
(You could argue that Stoke away is always tricky but Bairdinho had 'em last season)

:wine: half full

If the worst comes to the worst, I woudn't want to be desperately needing more than 3 points at the end of the season. Our run-in has us playing Everton and Spuds away, and Sunderland at home.

(I'm sure the Beamer will be proud of my glass half-empty view).
Finn and Corked Hat, you are forever part of the family.

I predict that come November we will be in the top 4, but will fall away around Xmas and after a mid-season slump we'll end up finishing 8th (again)..

+ Need to factor in any sucessful run in the europa league...

This is very realistic.... We could get 20 pts from the first 8 games.

Could I have some of what you two are smoking please?

Villa h - 3
Wolves a - 1
Newcastle a - 1
Blackburn h - 3
Man City h - 0
West Brom a - 1
QPR h - 3
Stoke a - 0

I make that 12 (and that assumes no slip ups against the three easy-ish home games).
