Gecov confirmed on Facebook that Grygera is in London doing his medical examination. Deal likely to go through tomorrow. About 300,000-500,000 pounds apparently.

Is his full name an anagram for Jari Litmanen by any chance?

Now thats scepticism at a whol new level!!

An interesting thread on Tiff, where an Ajax fan has predicted this signing after the Villa match (2 weeks ago), because Jol is mates with the agent and gets a cut of the transfer fee!!

I am starting to worry slightly  fp.gif.
English by birth, Fulham by the grace of God.

Mino Raiola indeed is Jol's mate. He's a major shareholder in czech agency Nehoda Sport and he's the boss of dutch Maguire Tax & Legal.

Now guess where our new players are under contract? Pajtim Kasami is under contract at Maguire Tax & Legal, Marcel Gecov and Zdenek Grygera at Nehoda Sport.

Raiola is one of the rather shady characters in the game, just like our dear old friend Kia Joorabchian.

Well all this is very interesting. Very odd and just goes to share how murky the game can be. Problem for me is that a good result and a few better players in and I shall defend Jol and the club to the death. A nice article in the Mirror about Jol and the Chairman and I am ready to say how great everything is.

But there is no doubt something is odd in the state of Fulham. Just how odd depends on how well the club does. Oh do be a fickle fan.

He's actually played against us before; on that memorable night at the cottage, coming in when Cannavaro got sent off.

Eh, whatever. Not PUMPED but not upset like the lot of you.

I just read somewhere that this Mino fella is Jols agent. Easy access to players he reps then?

Hmmmm,'very interesting reading the guy in the official where this started from and Greenpole on Tiff who got the agency details below. Looks like 3 out of the 1st 5 (if the RB of this thread signs) are all on his books.......

Apart from the stellar players at the top, not any players I would want and oasadi who we've been linked with his just changed agents to be linked with this fella...even more interesting were quotes from the player saying he wants to stay in Holland and he wasn't sure where the quotes were coming from saying he wanted to move abroad......I'm not easy about this, I wanted Jol but then started to get nagging doubts very early on. Hopefully all dispelled once we start playing well but the guy on the official also said he split up working CB partnerships and their shape went out of the window......

List of this guys 2 agencies:-

Necid and Sivok are both good players.  They have Sivok as a CB - I watched a couple of Sparta games about five years ago and he was a defensive midfielder, really on the up (I paid attention as I have a Sparta shirt with 'sivok 6' on the back!).

Necid I haven't seen but was half following the Czech game 'remotely' for a while and he was really well thought of and still youngish.

Anyway...

No football fan can be a fan of football agents -- for how much they drain from the game or for the (to allege no worse) lack of clarity about whose interests they truly represent. That said, it with agents that club MDs are used to dealing when hiring players and managers, so generically they will hold no surprises to club negotiators -- at any rate by the time they have been around the block a couple of times. The one person at Fulham who is bound to be aware of everything in this thread, and similar ones in other forums, is Alistair Macintosh.

A better guess than that clubs are innocent dupes in such matters, is that associations, head-starts, with particular agents and their clients are intangible assets which managers are expected to bring to the party -- part of the modern job spec. Not saying that's attractive or desirable from the fan's perspective, just unlikely to be the revelation that some would have it.

We may be underwhelmed but he is happy to have a go here.

Fulham are closing in on the signing of Czech Republic defender Zdenek Grygera from Juventus.

Juventus are willing to offload Grygera as he does not figure in Antonio Conte's long-term plans in Turin.

Fulham have moved quickly to land the versatile Grygera with the 31-year-old able to play anywhere across the back.

Grygera is expected to undergo a medical in London this weekend and the former Ajax man is excited about making the move to Craven Cottage

"Hopefully it will come out well. I take Fulham as a big call and will experience another top league," Grygera told CTK.

"The Premier League is probably the most followed competition at the moment and I am tempted by the prospect of being a part of it.

"This spell can teach me a lot as a footballer as well as a human being.

"I will come to know a different mentality and learn another language. The same goes for all my family.

"It is not easy for me to be leaving Juventus. Juventus is Juventus and, moreover, I have come to love Italy. But the situation there has developed in recent weeks that I would hardly make it into the nomination of 18 or 20 players.

"I have decided to leave and Fulham are an excellent option."

Anyway...

That's fair Richie and you can make an informed decision as you've seen them play.

My frustration is that we've got Baird who can play anywhere across the back 4 and in midfield and he's hardly played and were signing an older version of the same sort of player. We still haven't addressed the 3 major areas we needed strengthening at the beginning of the window which was a younger, specialised RB, a back up for Bobby and a younger goalscorer.

This of course could all change by the end of the window if we sign the likes of Cisse or similar. I'm not advocating we spend millions necessarily, but add some quality to a very thin squad.

Be an interesting couple of days (I hope!).

According to me is Baird a better footballer than Grygera, although is Grygera an excellent backup because of his experience and that he can play in all defense positions.

Hard to believe that Jol thinks the same.

Interesting to look back on our intial reaction when we were linked with him. I wonder if his surgery has taken place yet and whether we will see him again?

cebu

I think his surgery will be performed in December. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll see him in a Fulham shirt again.
