Schwarzer plans to keep going until 2014 World Cup

Mark Schwarzer won't have far to look for inspiration today - the opposite end of the pitch.

Spurs keeper Brad Friedel is already 40 and Fulham's Aussie stopper reaches the landmark next October.

Schwarzer admitted: "Brad has been a fantastic goalkeeper. When I look at people like him who can still play at the top level, that gives me inspiration to keep going."

He has set his sights on the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and is using every trick to stay in trim – including yoga and pilates. He said: "That has helped me massively with reflexes and mobility."

So I guess that's Stockdale off this summer. By the time of the 2014 WC, Stockers will have a half-dozen full caps and be competing with Hart as the England goalie. I wonder who we'll have in goal.
