The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

...Freddy, I met Jim (he's still fat and round, but no longer worth a million pounds) Stannard about four years ago, he now looks like a rounded version of Mr Strong:-

Schwarzer, VDS, Taylor, Macedo - pah! all you youngsters obviously never had the opportunity of seeing Jack Iceton at his best...

Schwarzer for me.

Anyone who has sat within earshot of him on match day will have heard how well he commands his area - it's no co-incidence that we have a world class defense under his watch.

Van Der Sar is also a brilliant keeper but we have a had a lot of success under Schwarzer and I can see him staying with us until he hangs up his gloves now that Arsenal have backed off.

Jack Fulham

Went for Schwarzer but EDVS, Taylor and Schwarzer are all I've known. I love Maik Taylor though, true professional.

I was going to suggest Arthur Reynolds...then I remembered that terrible error that cost us the points against Leicester Fosse back in 1911.
"Bring back Skene", we chanted all the way back home in the charabanc.

VDS's performance v Arsenal in the 0 - 0 at Highbury was without doubt one of the finest pieces of Goalkeeping I have ever seen  :Haynes The Maestro:

Oh, I remember that game. I said to myself (and my mates) at half time that if we somehow got through the game without conceding I'd be off home to book a trip to the following Ch*lsea derby. Thing was that at the time I didn't have the funding nor any time to claim off work. Surely enough I went home after the game, a wee bit drunk, and booked my flight. Waking up the next morning, hang over as ffcuk realising what I did was an odd moment. Thankfully I had a boss who understood my love for football and Fulham so she gave me the days off fully paid with the words "Nick, next time, please check with me FIRST"!

Jim Stannard for his dedication to keeping fit  064.gif . I'd love to see a photo of him now, God knows how big he'd be. Maik is my favorite keeper, but Swarcher is the best. I never really took to EVDS, though he was quality.
Agree. Stannard was a good keeper, despite his girth and he had the best song we've ever had for a keeper.

I've gone for Edwin, more for the sheer mentalness of him signing for us at that time than his keeping, which I'd say there's nothing between him and Mark.

Just remember seeing it on SSN, I was just dumbstruck (for those that don't know me, this is a rarity).

VDS was arguably our highest profile signing. From Juventus (right?) then to Manchester United, we got a world class player near his peak.

That's pretty amazing to me.

But I think Schwarzer's better.

How anyone can compare Maik Taylor to EVDS is beyond me. He's not fit to lace Edwins boots.

Played for Ajax, Juventus, Fulham and Manyoo. Which team looks out of place in that list? He saved us at least 10 points a season with his brilliance. And I would say he saves us at least 5 extra points than Schwarzer saves us. People have got very short memories!!!! He is Holland's most capped ever player with 130 International caps

The only true WORLD-CLASS keeper we are ever likely to see at Fulham in our lives

Fulhamkev

I should have added, I bet Manyoo would take him back in a heartbeat for another season. That De Gea looks a poor replacement for the best keeper in the Premier League's history (the only exception probably being Schmeichel)

EVDS was one of the games great goalkeepers but his time with us was a lull in his career.

I was astonished when he signed for us but never felt that he was quite as good as he ought to have been. Signing for United I think rekindled his ambition and enthusiasm and he performed better for them than us.

In terms of performances for FFC I think Mark Schwarzer is the best keeper I've seen by a distance.

It's all about opinions I suppose, but I couldn't disagree any more. Schwarzer is a good keeper, decent, nothing more nothing less. EDVS was truly world-class. Was MoM so many times for us. Made me laugh when he signed for Manyoo how all the media started creaming themselves over him and saying how good he was. He was that good for us week in week out, but just never got the recognition whilst playing for us (surprise surprise)

The CL is "ancient" history (1995, the other titles were in the European Cup) and their league is not really on par with the PL. How do you compare the big fish in the small pond with us being a medium sized fish in a huge lake  :dft011:

[Just to clarify, I was trying out that little thing called irony in my AJAX?! reply above - I guess that works better spoken than in writing]
