Sa to improve both language and fitness

Orlando Sa is set for a busy Summer

The attacker, who only scored one goal in seven appearances for the Cottagers last year says that training in the off season this time around will be important for his form going into the 2012-13 Premier League season.

He also said he hopes that the work he is putting in will result in him scoring more goals like his strike against Norwich in his debut season.

"I feel that this is a really important pre-season for me," Sa told the club's official website.

"I want to be really prepared ahead of the new campaign because I want this year to be my year.

"I hope that I can score more goals like the one I got against Norwich. That was a good moment for me and I hope I will have many more moments like the one I experienced at Carrow Road."

The 24-year-old Portugese striker has admitted that he struggled with the pace of the English game when he first arrived in the summer of 2011, but thought he adapted physically after a few months in England.

He also talked of his love of residing in 'relaxing' London, and said he aside from working on his fitness, he is also improving his English.

He added: "Next season will be much better for me. I did find the pace of the game very fast five or six months ago but towards the end of the season I felt good and come August I hope to be much better.

"I love London. I live in Wimbledon Village and it's very relaxing and tranquil. The traffic isn't too bad which is good because I like a relaxed atmosphere.

"My English is improving but I'm spending the summer trying to improve it even more so it's easier for me when we return for pre-season training."

The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Mr Fulham

Seems to be a thoroughly nice bloke. Good luck to him next season, hope he stays fit.

We really didnt see much of him last year did we? Jol seems to have a knack with finding players ie berba, bale and a few others so I would love to see him get more pitch time.
Self proclaimed tactical genius, football manager approved.

Just you wait until Wimbledon fortnight, Orlando.  Then it won't be so tranquil!

Agree with above points.  He's got the right attitude and will need a run in the team to decide wheter he's up to it or not.  But we do need to bring in strikers as those currently with us cannot be expected to shoulder the burden themselves and our main goalscorer's future is still up in the air

Berbatov had played 154 times for Bayer Leverkusen before signing for Spurs (twice in Champion's League finals - the first as a substitute, the second from the start). Bale was widely admired as a youngster at Southampton. So neither were particularly obscure players. Good luck to Sá, certainly. Glad he's enjoying life in Wimbledon Village.

I like Sa very much, he works hard and has a good attitude! There were a couple of glimpses of him being a good player last season eg the goal vs Norwich! I also the remember the carling cup vs Chelsea were he got himself behind the Chelsea defense on a number of occasions and had a couple of chances to score! However whenever he came on in a european game he seemed to struggle a lot!

Me-ate-Live, innit??

I really hope he does well,  as said earlier seems a decent guy .............................. fits the Fulham profile
pre-season and the last six month ....we should see the benefits, needs to be stronger, tougher and there is no reason why he should not be both .........................................did anyone see the body on him when he threw his shirt on Boxing Day at Chelsea ?? :021:
