Smith & Pritchard Sign

We are pleased to confirm that Development Squad players Alex Smith and Josh Pritchard have signed contract extensions with the Club.

Alex has signed a new deal that ties him to the Club until June 2013, while Josh will remain at Fulham until June 2014.

Alex Smith captained the Development Squad to second place in the Barclays Premier Reserve League South last season. Josh Pritchard too featured heavily for the Development Squad and was also part of Kit Symons' side that defeated Blackburn Rovers in the Premier Academy League Final at Craven Cottage.

Smithers been a bit of a revelation the last couple of months playing centre mid. As for Pritchard, well I guess he's the only midfield enforcer we have at that level, been unlucky to play out of position in a few big games aswell.

Mr Fulham

elgreenio, do you think Smith has got the potential to be a Premiership squad player like, for example, Matthew Briggs or Alex Kacaniklic?

elgreenio

Honestly, no. He's very lightweight and maybe found his place in attacking midfield a bit too late to really gain from it. He does take a wicked free kick though. Think he'll have this year until Minkwitz, Christensen and maybe even Pat Roberts start knocking on the door as more technically gifted centre midfielders
