A 3 o'clock kick off in August.

Club coach leaves at 7:30 yes 7:30 !

Train costs £72 return. Don't know if there are engineering works.

You could drive but I do not fancy that.

Any other options?

I think you can go London to Leeds on the train, and then across to Manchester.  No idea if it works out cheaper but might be worth a look

The problem is with the train, is getting home if you need to be back for work in the morning. Im not sure what time the last one back is of how long it takes from the ground to the station.

Loads of time to get back to Manchester Piccadilly after game, you can get the team from not far from Old Trafford that takes you into the city centre.

It's about time they brought back the old football specials

I got thrown off one of  those once at Winchester when I was about 15. I wasn't doing anything wrong, just with the wrong looking person.

Don't start on about loose women, I was too young to even think in that way, and was a tomboy when a teenager (I've actually never watched that programme so not quite sure what the connotations are anyhow, but the title doesn't bode well!).

Anyway he was from Basingstoke, but just supported Southampton.  :015:

Burt

Perhaps it may be worth hitch-hiking.

Has never worked for me, but it may for others.

Sorted.

Virgin train before 7:35 on Saturday is £18. Most Bank holiday Monday trains are £18. So £36 return. No engineering works showing on train sites.

Cheap digs in centre of Manchester. Make a weekend of it.

Not often Man U away is 3 o'clock kick off during a pleasant time of the year.
