Grygera makes Fulham comeback

By Jacob Murtagh

Jul 28 2012

ZDENEK Grygera made his first appearance for almost nine months in last night's pre-season friendly win against Kingstonian.

The Czech defender has been sidelined since suffering a serious knee injury against Spurs back in November, which ended his season early.

However, the 31-year-old, who is a free agent after his deal expired last month, is back in full training and made a second-half cameo in the 2-0 win against the K's at Kingsmeadow.

And the former Juventus full-back admits he's delighted to be back.

He told the Chronicle: "It was the first game back since my surgery and it feels very good.

"I'm really happy and grateful to Fulham and the medical staff for the chance to get fit.

"Now I have to work on my legs and need some more time to be faster and stronger."

Glad to hear it.  I felt really bad for him when he got injured.

The Doctor

Great news for both FFC and Grygera.  I hope he makes a full recovery and gives Jol a selection headache at RB

Really is great news, that put a smile on my face, the agony your in after a terrible injury is just beyond words.
Does anyone know if the club offered him a one year deal? - i know something was muted.....

Well it states that he is a free agent after his contract expired last month?

Can he still train and play then if he hasn't got a contract?

I think we still hold his registration so, technically, yes.

Good player and a good backup at CB and RB. I hope we hang on to him. I liked what I saw last season, however briefly.

Thought he was a fantastic player last season- calm and composed at any position he played. Would love to see him as backup.

Was he injury prone before he came to us, or was it bad luck

The deal seems to be that we do everything we can to get him fit and if he reaches a high enough standard he gets another contract
