Aaron Ramsey, Murphs replacement?

Early gossip suggested he would replace Murphy.
After his two dreadful penalties for GB I'd say he's certainly no Super Dan

Mr Fulham

You forgot to add a 'FACT.' to strengthen your opinion.

I think he's immensely talented, but he's not had the best of times recently.

leonffc

Haha my facts are based on his two penalties alone. Tongue in cheek of course.
I'd take him for Fulham as long as someone else gets put on pens. great player.

MrFFC

Would be a great signing hopefully with Arsenal signing Cazorla and Sahin Arsenal will agree to sell him as he is a very good player
Come on you Whites!! :)

Would be absolutely ideal to my way of thinking.

Unfortunately Wenger isn't that stupid - unless Macintosh brings the same chain-saw into the negotiating room as was used to prise Kacaniklic away from Anfield.

No worries about penalties; we've still got Clint. If not, we've still got Kasami.

Petric?

Seems likely. Half a dozen of his 51 Bundesliga goals have been penalties.

Ruiz took penalties for Twente. I've seen film of him chipping one in á la Pirlo - but I've also seen film of him chipping one straight into the keepers arms!

Ruiz.

Ramsey will do well here but how will he fit in. Dembele and Diarra look pretty good to me. Either he replaces Dembele which no one wants as he's the inferior player, or Dembele gets pushed further forward. That's not a bad idea but I like him driving from deep.
Personally I say leave central midfield alone, Dembele and Diarra have that covered. Focus on right midfield and more importantly up front. Petric and Rodallega is not enough fire power.

SouthfieldWhite

Not a massive fan of his, slows an attack down more often than not and turns back when there's a forward pass on

Can't say I was impressed with Ramsey or the Swansea winger we were supposed to be interested in. On saying that Joe Allen looked average at best. Not a great advert for any player in that GB team.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Agree here with southfield, he also seems to lazy to chase back if he loses the ball upfield. nowhere near murphs ability.
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

I vote for Riise. It'd take a brave/stupid keeper to get in the way of his shot.

Riise crossed my mind. You'd think he'd be ideal, but I can find no evidence of him ever having taken one in normal play (he missed his in the CL final against Milan). Of course penalty taking is heavily dependent on the head as well as the foot.

On the subject of Ruiz - 'dinked' penalties are fine, just as long as the keeper dives. If the keeper doesn't cooperate it can look...well, embarrassing...

One game though.
