i think no.9 is going to be for new signing...... :Haynes The Maestro:

What I said about the No.9 position was correct. We never seem to start the season with a No.9. Sa was brought in on the last day of the transfer window.

F(f)CUK

OK I have now searched the internet for the answer. Who was the last person to start the season in the No.9 shirt?

Also who was the last person to hold the No.9 shirt for two years running?

Final one - name the remaining Premiership No.9s.

Ehrrrrmmm....Bobby had the #9 in his first season I think. So Zamora.

That's got to be a long time ago......I'm going for Facundo Sava?!

F(f)CUK

If you didn't research it then well done as it was Zamora in 08/09 and Sava. I actually meant other Fulham No.9s.

There are 5 others.

Andrew Cole
Why would you kill it, kill it, kill it before it dies?

F(f)CUK

Andy Cole was one of them. I might have got one of the other four if I hadn't researched it.

F(f)CUK

Helguson was that one. Three left.

Mr Fulham

wait...bit of a long shot......but....Michael Brown?

Our No.9s

Sa, Zamora, Helguson, Okaka, Cole, Michael Brown, Sava and Collins John.

Only Sava held the position for more than one year.

Having established the list I am no longer that excited about the shirt number being filled.

Dom(TO)

Didn't Sidwell initially wear the number 9 shirt? Or am I imagining things...

Healy definitely wore the #9 shirt, not so sure Collins John did though.

Healy did wear the #9, Collins John's number was #15.

Sidders had the #7 initially, then the #4 and now again the #7.

I'm not sure I see the problem here.

Once upon a time, shirts were numbered from 1 to 11, and pretty much denoted your position on the pitch. In those days, a number 9 was your centre forward.

But we live in an age of squad numbers, fluid formations and total football. Does it matter if we don't have a number 9?
