I should start by saying that I have no interest in this twitter hobby, nor am I trying to belittle anyone for having an interest in this (God knows, most of my hobbies probably seem a little strange to most people), but what exactly do people get by "following" you? And what do they get out of it?

Does this mean anything you post (tweet?) gets sent to them automatically? Or anything you receive?
And, what is the point?

I belong to a couple of internet discussion groups, set up by people with specialised interests in various non-football related topics, but I tend to delete messages from a few of those people unread, because I have learned that they never have anything new to say, just something rather sad which they think is rather funny. On another group I delete over half the posts unread because they deal with aspects of the hobby which I have no interest in at all.
Do you get that option with twitter, or do you get to read everything that is sent?

As I said, I'm not trying to make out that there is anything unpalatable about this, I just do not understand the attraction it seems to have for so many people.
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

On twitter, you only see what the people you're interested in (following) have to say.

Right, so if you were to follow ffcfulham, as he asks, he could send you messages about anything, correct?

So, surely he should have said "follow me on twitter because..." and come up with good reasons why he is worth listening to (related to one of the players/chief exec/players agents/is a player himself)?

I like to think that people follow me because A) I'm interesting B) I give regular information about fulham (ie stats, offical news items etc) and C) I give my opinion.

Really what twitter is- finding out what other peoples opinions are.

F(f)CUK

I've just written my 100th tweet. One day I may even have a follower.
