Match of the Day has two new pundits:

The BBC said on their website: 'Former Tottenham manager Redknapp and ex-Wolves boss McCarthy will bring their considerable managerial expertise and experience to the country's most popular football programme.'

The BBC announced the pair will join 'familiar faces' Alan Hansen and Alan Shearer as regulars on the sofa.

Ohhhhhhhh..........

AlFayedsChequebook

They could not have picked worse people.

The BBC get so much right, but their football coverage remains f*cking awful.

MJG

Football have moved on from those two, plenty of intelligent players or even non ex players can give a better opinion.

Does this mean no more Lawrenson? Please say it means no more Lawrenson.

MasterHaynes

Raised my hopes that we had seen the back of Shearer Hansen and Lawrenson but it looks like we just lose lawrenson and Dixon, the only one the said anything sensible, who left for to work for a better football programme

King_Crud

no Dixon? Oh well, I'll just record it and fast forward all the crap now

Airfix

Gets my vote.  I want them where I can see them!

Exactly what I do already.  Amazing how much more enjoyable it is.  And it leaves more time for Football League Extra too.

Alternative

They  need people who do not just spout cliches.

Gordon Strachan or Ian Holloway would be entertaining. Leroy Rosenior would be informative and should get 'promoted' from the football league show.

From Thomas Gray "Ode on a Prospect of Eton College"

To each his sufferings: all are men,
Condemned alike to groan;
The tender for another's pain,
The unfeeling for his own.
Yet ah! why should they know their fate?
Since sorrow never comes too late,
And happiness too swiftly flies.
Thought would destroy their paradise.
No more; where ignorance is bliss,
'Tis folly to be wise.

So here's to some blissful Saturday evenings (?), courtesy of 'Arry & McCarthy.... :001:

Ps.   Is it possible Thomas Gray is an ancestor of Andy Gray....?   :002:
