I watched the whole game today but didn't really pay attention to who was captain as I assumed it would be Brede. But I've just seen this on the BBC Feed:

QuoteFulham captain Aaron Hughes on Twitter: "Great way to start the season. Brilliant effort from everyone today, especially in that heat! Just started to cool down now.....it was HOT!"

Just a mistake from the Beeb or is Hughes really the new captain? Still a good choice, and at least it means that the H/H partnership is likely to stick.

Mr Fulham

Hangeland was our skipper

Maybe Brede is team captain and Hughes club captain.

The guy who controlled the play was Diarra.

Jack Fulham

Diddy announced Hangeland as captain but yeah as Tony said, Diarra looked like the captain today.

I think Diddy said this would be his last season.

I agree with you on this. Like Murphy, he wont always grab the headlines, but he's the man in the middle of park keeping everything ticking over. I doubt many pundits will pick up on him, but he's a good early shout for player of the season.

Diarra pulled all the strings, but he's been with us but for half a season. I think Brede is the appropriate choice.

Diarra has been excellent for a long time. Too few of our own fans gave him the credit he deserves.

He's only been at the club half a season! I think he's been given all the credit he deserves. Couple of ropey early games but after that was clear to see his ability. Marshalled the other midfielders really well as well - true leader.

Glad someone else spotted that...think I mentioned it in another thread. Do you think Brede felt a bit undermined as Diarra was the one directing traffic all game and not him?
