Excuse my ignorance - but have we?

Is this a (goal difference and alphabetical assisted nonetheless) landmark?

Have we?

Difference is I think we might retain the top spot for the week. I can only see man city taking it but we can hope southampton just put 10 me in front of goal to limit the damage.

well, since the weekend isn't over and, since we're only in first place because F comes before S, it's a little silly to be celebrating this. On the other hand, having a +5 goal difference after one match is going to do us a world of good as the season goes on. If we have a +5 GD after game 38, I'll be absolutely thrilled.

Thanks for the info and help.

I hope we play like yesterday and come away from Stretford with 3 points to maintain it - that would be a new benchmark + the added scalp factor of Taggart and his merry Tweeters.

On the Monday Newcastle beat West Ham 4-0 so we finished the full weekend's fixtures back in 2002/03 in 2nd place.
