Spoke to a Sunderland supporting friend yesterday who's views in football I trust.  He was very sorry that Richardson had left but the club had agreed it due to him wanting to move back to the London area for family reasons.  Said he'd be a very good signing for us if he stays fit.

He's played at left back mainly due to them having no one else but midfield is where he'll excel. Compared with the other signings this one has been a little "low key" but could prove to be an invaluable one.

Have to admit I was less than thrilled when we were linked with him. But he could be in the mold of Simon Davies. A player who works his socks of and may well end up being a great signing. Clearly we need a wide left player other than Kaka. Good luck to him.
