I know this is not Fulham related. But what a tool. I dont like Aston Villa. But I think they would kill Ranger in a game. So to say Ranger should be in a top league is stupid.

Rangers chief executive Charles Green predicts European overhaul
Chief executive Charles Green believes Rangers will be involved in the formation of a new European league.

Green's consortium relaunched the Ibrox club after the former incarnation could not be saved from liquidation.

"I'm convinced it will happen because otherwise where will the revenues for the top come from"

Charles Green on a European league

Rangers currently play in Scottish Football League Division Three.

"There will be a European league because big teams can't keep subsidising small teams for the next 10 years because they will go stale," said Green.

"Arsenal don't want to play Southampton or Swansea, but ask them if they want to play Celtic or Rangers. It's what the fans want to see.

"Fans across the world want to see Manchester United play Barcelona, not just once every few years but every season."

Green is convinced Rangers would be part of any new European league.

"If there are two divisions of 18 clubs, how could Rangers not be a part of that?" he asked. "I'm convinced it will happen because otherwise where will the revenues for the top come from? These days Arsenal are struggling to sell out their game against West Ham."

Last month, BBC Scotland revealed Scottish clubs, including Rangers, were to discuss the possibility of being part of a new European regional league set-up.

Uefa is believed to be open to change as it grows increasingly concerned by the polarisation between the top clubs and top leagues.

Green added: "How can Manchester United's revenues be £320m and Aston Villa, who are completely useless, get £250m?

"What Manchester United put into world football is massive, but what they take out of it is a joke and they won't put up with that for much longer

I love the line its want fans want like we love seeing Arsenal keep beating  Scottish teams. Hell didn't we beat Celtic easily in a friendly a few years ago.

If there was an "elite" breakaway of 32 European clubs, how could Rangers not be part of it? Ooh, let's start a list of 32 more deserving (ie "bigger earning for the TV people") European clubs than Rangers.
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

Rangers have a huge appeal, far more than that of Aston Villa and if they were in the English football pyramid then they would be in the top half of the Premier League every single season. You can say, oh but they're rubbish but it's about the finances that come with playing in England compared to the SPL. Rangers would fill their 51,000 capacity ground every game and benefit greatly from merchandise. They'd leapfrog sides like Fulham and Villa fairly easily and quickly.

Same goes for Celtic, who are having to buy their players from the bargain bin of World football. The fact that two very prestigious clubs can't afford to buy decent players whilst a relegated Premier League side can sell two average players to a promoted side and a dull midtable team (Wolves, West Ham and Sunderland respectively) speaks volumes and it's what Green is playing at.

Yeah, we beat them in a friendly, means sod all. Blackburn beat Man Utd last season at Old Trafford, shall we invite them to the European Super League too?

It does mean something.Because we are a better team than them. Do you really think there strikers would get into our team? no way. Secondaly if Fulham did get into this Super League dont you think we would be able to sell 50 k seats I do. Any team that went into it would be able to. Due to being in it. The fact is if Fulham got into the CL we would gain a vast amount of extra glory supporters just like Man Utd, Man City ext

What a Plonker! sounds just like Del boy trying to sell his dodgy video recorders.

Is he trying to get his hands on sheds loads of money by any chance? If there was a Euro league and rangers got in his investment in a liquidated company would look like bargain of the century like buying the winning Euromillions mega Lottery draw ticket.

His assumption that Scotland has to have teams in a European league is laughable, Scotland have few players of international quality and their clubs rarely last very long in European competitions even.

Rangers has to be in it? there would be a minimum of 4 teams(more likely 5 or 6)each from Germany, Italy, France, England, Spain and at least 2(probably 3) teams each from Holland, Greece, Turkey, Belgium and Russia making 30 or 40 at least and would all have more valid claims than Rangers on so many levels.

Also the only reason this is even being talked about is because EUFA want some of the English games TV money, they have made loads of money with or the additional CL and EUFA cup league games but its still loads less than the Premier league. Platini also can't stand to see English football calling the shots over his poor little French league which gets only a fraction of that from their TV companies. Envy is tamped all over EUFA

Has there not been some talk about a euro lge involving..shall we say lesser nations. Scotland, Scandinavian countries and maybe some of the less high profile central/western lges?

I attended a lecture last year from a prominent footballing agent and representative (his clients included Gerrard, Wilshere, Bent...) He said exactly the same thing and thought we'd have a European league in the future. He predicted that football clubs could no longer survive in some more distant areas of the UK (he mentioned Stoke's location being the inherent flaw in their business plan.) He thinks that matches will be played outside of the EU. Saturday football could potentially come from Dubai, the States or China...

It makes me very sad. There's much more to football than money. I support commercialism in the sport because without it it wouldn't survive. Modernisation is necessary but taking football away from local league could break the charm of football. It'll make things very artificial.

There may well be a European League in the future. Depending how they do it, Celtic and Rangers are simply not good enough to be in any European League. However like most ideas born purely out of making the rich richer. Fans would soon be fed up watching the same sides play each other. Can you imagine clubs like Liverpool and Everton not being included and the farce that would cause. Or Arsenal and not Spuds.

Still with the crooks we have in charge of our game who knows how long clubs like ours will be allowed to compete in the highest level. We will soon have to put up with an English league made up of all the rest of the clubs that haven't gone into the European League. We could call it The English Premier League and fans and Tv viewers would love it because there would be less dull European type Barcelona pass pass yawn football in it. Fine for the odd game but not every match. We will survive without The European League. Especially if clubs like Celtic and Rangers are in it.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

There already are two European Leagues: Champions League and Europa League

Having a European Super League not only ensures that only one club in Europe can be a "champion" it completely negates the need for the current ECL system. I don't see how it's in anyone's interest to have it -- with the exception of Italy. As near as I can tell, unless it's a local derby, the stadia are only about 1/4 full for SerieA matches.

I would hope that Fulham wouldn't be in this Super League.
I loathe the concept of my beloved team's away games stretching abroad, I just wouldn't be able to go to them. Away games are a rare and fantastic experience for myself and to lose a lot of them would be horrible. There would be much less banter between clubs due to the language barrier, which takes away from the resultant atmosphere. As mentioned above, you would lose a lot of local derby matches. I would hate it so, so much. I don't care how much money the team I support has.
