Been offered a few days in Seaford during the half term. Any feedback? Basic requirements are real ale, a decent restaurant & somewhere to cycle on the front. I do appreciate it will be cold, windy & probably wet.

Odd place but near some great countryside. Not far from Alfriston and White Man Of Wilmington which is a great walk. Pubs out of Seaford are a bit Wicker Man. You know you go in and the place goes silent. Or could just be me. Once you get off the main road some great places to ride that are very near. Seafront very quiet and room to ride as not much traffic as it is away from shops.

Not sure about real ale and food as have never stopped near the shops.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Real ale and cycling - along with Fulham and surfing - are my specialist subjects. There were 2 pubs in Seaford on the local CAMRA ale trail this summer:
http://brightoncamra.org.uk/AleTrail.html. If you want to make a day (or evening) of it, hop on a train for the short ride to Lewes which has some fantastic pubs (best is the Snowdrop, in my opinion) and is home to the Harveys Brewery.

Cycling - if you cycle eastwards out of Seaford and drop down into the Cuckmere valley, you can cycle down to the picturesque Cuckmere Haven, or into Seven Sisters country park where there are trails of differing toughness or on lanes up the valley to Alfriston (some good pubs) or the Sussex Ox at Litlington. There are also some nice pubs in Firle, Alciston and Berwick.

Make sure you're back for the Everton game!
Enjoy.

There was no Maldives or the like in my/our day... Hastings/Brighton and then Seaford was where my honeymoon was spent....the home defeat against Shrewsbury or the Kerry Dixon goal at Highbury didnt enhance the overall upbeat nature of proceedings i might add....george orwell 1984 and all that.

Very misty from memory...very ray stevens.

Stumbled across Seaford with no knowledge of the + or - so give it a go I reckon.

a certain paul parker was just about to shine just then.....the real king kenny was about to reveal himself.

On the off chance anyone is remotely interested in Seaford, I can report it's OK.  Although my view was probably influenced by the bright sunshine today. old style resort with some interesting locals as reported above.

Beer, beach & cycling good. Good bus & train connections to Brighton & Eastbourne. My only mistake was accepting a two meals for £7 in one of the boozers.  My chicken chilli noodles was I suspect a pot noodle with a few bits of chicken thrown in.

Seaford ...

Full of wrong'uns.

Try the Old Boot pub or the Cinque Ports.  Acceptable.

Odd geezer runs the Keebab shop but if you fancy a burger try Dunkies. The half pounder with Chilli is very, very good.

Town of Blue filth.  But then what do you expect ...
30 years through thin and thin, our time is now. Forget Torquay at your peril ...

That is disappointing to hear Moussas...no town needs to have that kind of representation.

Didn't spot any blue filth in Seaford but happy to report I saw two Cottagers in Littlehampton Harbour.
