This will be interesting as it is the only time all season we have had a fully fit squad (Davies only player missing)
We need to attack Reading I think our attack will be too powerful for them, this will be good I bet noones line ups are the same because of the quality we have in our squad for me I would like Jol to go

4-2-3-1

Schwarzer

Riether Hughes Hangeland Riise

Baird Diarra

Duff Ruiz Kacaniklic

Berbatov

Subs - Stockdale , Senderos , Sidwell , Frei/Richardson , Dejagah , Rodallega , Petric

Wow that is some subs bench if we could keep all our players fit we would end up in the top 8 easy
Thoughts?

TonyGilroy

We're spoilt for choice and Jol said as much yesterday.

He also talked about playing Rodallega wide and bringing on Dejagah against Villa as essentially being hunches. He talked about working on dealing with Reading's strengths and weaknesses and in the absence of any real knowledge of those I guess that will determine the team selection.

I like the idea of Baird and Sidwell protecting the defence with Diarra as the main link to 3 strikers. Being overrun in midfield and playing too close to our defence isolates the attackers. I think we can be more attacking with 3 rather than 4 attackers by giving them better support and service.

so

Schwarzer

Reither   Hughes Hangeland  Riise

Baird  Diarra   Sidwell

Dejagah  Berbatov  Rodallega

Yeah Rodallega is a good option him & Berbatov link up well

The keeper and back four are automatic, the midfield and strikers need some thought and a lot depends on how the manager sums up the oposition . I would like to see:-

Dejagah  Baird   Diarra  Duff

                    Riuz

                  Berbatov.

Boggers

That would be mine too but swap Ruiz for Rodders.

I hesitated before selecting Ruiz, but feel that perhaps this is the game where he will really come good. How about starting with Ruiz and bringing Rodders on at half time as an impact sub.

mccscratch

Schwarzer
Riether
Hughes
Hangeland
Riise
Sidwell
Diarra
Ruiz
Duff
Petric (constant rotation from let to center with Ruiz)
Berba
Just score 3+ goals a game and we will gain promotion...I promise

Boggers

I think Reading will play a high tempo game and close us down quickly on the ball, so I wouldn't start with Ruiz. I'd bring him on about 70 mins depending on how we're doing.

I wouldn't start Petric as I'm not fully convinced by him - he seems about a yard off the pace and everything he does is a bit laboured. I'd also give him 20-30 mins until he's fully fit.

Perfect!
And play Dejagah for Duff and Petric for Ruiz in the second half (depending on the score).

Do you guys realize that we might end up in 7th position after this round as we will probably defeat Reading and Newcastle will probably defeat WBA? How cool would that be?

I would start with:

That would be my team too. I would like to find a place for Ruiz but as he is coming back from injury and this is an away game I would bring him on from the bench.

fulhamben

think jol has a bit of a love afair going on with richardson so i think he will pick him.(wrongly in my eyes) gutted frei isnt about for this one and i would start ashkan. dont care where just start him. lets use subs to shaw up a game instead of trying to salvage something.

Can't disagree with that, Rodallega and Berbatov up top seems to have some decent chemistry, Duff and Kacaniklic deserve their spots on the flanks, my only change I think Jol may make would be to possibly play the more natural midfielder in Sidwell as opposed to Baird, however I would hate to be Jol and having to leave out one of either Sidwell or Baird

Agree. No point risking Ruiz from the start besides, Rodallega and Berbatov could prove an effective partnership. We have plenty of attacking options for this one.

Drop Rodallega to the bench.Overrated anyway.

JackyFulham90

A lot of people wanting Rodallega upfront with Berbatov, they do link up very well, is Petric currently 4th choice striker in most people's eyes?

No.Petric is just second to Berba.Others should wait their turn.

I agree with this and think this will be our team and we win 3-1 (even though I predicted a closer game in the predictor game cause we are Fulham!)

take it you have given him a 5 already in the match ratings you do. Maybe its you who under rate him?

Zu-Meister

id swap petric and berbatov around, have petric play the deeper role, with berbatov up top. thing is now ruiz is fit, jol will probably play him and berbatov.
as for midfield, id play baird and diarra.
