.........put everything you can lay your hands on for 'Bama tomorrow. Tide by 2 TD's!!!

JohnKovacs

I hope you're wrong.

SEC hasn't looked overly impressive in their bowl games so I think the Irish have more than a fighting chance.

ND  20  17  Alabama

John, I would love nothing more than to see ND win it tomorrow.  Agreed the SEC had a 'bad year' by its own standards but....the SEC and ANY other conference comparison ???  The Premier League and the Championship come to mind.  (excuse the bravado but I've got 2 at MS State )  Tomorrow will see the 7th straight SEC Champion.
Bite off the hand that offers the Tide @ -8.5/9.

I really think it's time you Americans did the decent thing and just called this game "Gridiron", so we all know what we are talking about when using  word "football", instead of having to use the meaningless term "soccer". Let's face it, football hardly comes into the American game. OK there is the bastardised version of the rugby drop kick when you go for the extra point, and the kick after a third down, but that is like a full back in real football booting the ball into touch because he has no other option. In reality the rest of the game is rather like playing frisbee (with a piggy in the middle) whilst wearing armour (or should that be armor) that would make King Richard III green with envy. Incidentally, why is the ball hardly ever passed at short range as in rugby? I think I've only seen it once in about five years of watching games.

:dft012: Just in case anyone takes me too seriously.

I must disagree, 1.) there is no way the Redskins should be +3 going to Seattle and will probably win by atleast 7 and 2.) ND is a lot better then the Texas A&M team Bama lost to (besides at QB). The game will be much closer than 2 scores and ND has a hell of a chance to end the SEC's reign.

I agree I think the term football demeans our game... none of us like the frickin kickers anyway... let's rename it, Kill The Man With the Ball... like we all used to play when we were kids... actually we also called it smeer the queer, pronounced smeyah the queyah, but that isn't politically correct these days... so let's just go with KTMWTB. then again that's too many letters lets go with KMWB... kill man with ball... unga bunga, sound good to dis cave man.

Game is in Washington, not Seattle. Redskins are getting points because RGIII isn't healthy.

despite yourself you bring up a great point.  "the rugby drop kick" is legal in the NFL. Has anyone seen it used? Has it ever been used in an NFL game?

Mr_Moon

He's looking pretty good to me.

West coast record on East and Seahawks' terrible on the road record puts me off fancying Seahawks for this.

15 years of the BCS and Ohio St are the only "Big Ten" team to be invited. That's gotta hurt.  The SEC's "reign" continues....I just don't see an end to it.

Hello, Mr and/or Ms Modulator: can you transfer this thread to the Exiles and Bloody Yanks forum. I really hate to read about pointy football on a round football site.

Oh pls spare us another of your narcissistic posts. You saw the NFR in the headline. Don't like it?...don't read it.      Looks like you started long before 5pm central today there hatterdon....eh??

Rhys Lightning 63

I think a lot of it will depend on whether or not the Bama passing game is up to scratch. If it isn't 100% and they have to rely on the running game, Manti Te'o will eat the Bama RB up all day long
@MattRhys63 - be warned, there will be a lot of nonsense

I'll admit I was wrong, though Shanahan should've brought in Cousins a lot earlier.
No clue why I thought the game was in Seattle

Doug flutie did it while playing for the Pats a few years ago... nailed it too... he was the first player to do it since the leagues merged or some such.
