Fulham have enquired about former Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz, 31, at Wolfsburg.

Wigan and Aston Villa have also been offered the Austrian after his proposed move to Nurnberg collapsed.

Thoughts?

Llorente to Juve confirmed. He'll join on a free in the summer.

This is where we need Mr Fulham's Bundesliga knowledge.

All I remember from his time at Boro was him being a battler and a bit of a nutter

Yun Suk-Young has completed his move to QPR according to the official Chunnam Dragons website.

zander

Yeah his insight would be handy.

The last time I saw him play was for poland I think but don't know how he's been doing at Wolfsburg.
This is a rather underwhelming link though and any interest would be for cover/short term I'm assuming as he is another 30+ player.

YankeeJim

Isn't he a bit young for the Whites?
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

"Fulham have enquired about former Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz, 31, at Wolfsburg. Wigan and Aston Villa have also been offered the Austrian."

"Tottenham are considering meeting West Ham's £3.5m release clause for Mohamed Diame beating Arsenal, Everton and Fulham to the 25-year-old midfielder."

Diame would have been a brilliant capture. Can't say I'm familiar with Pogatetz. It's slightly worrying though seeing teams like Newcastle filling all the gaps in their squad, and I also noticed that Norwich were linked with Van Wolfswinkel today.

It seems all the teams around our position in the table are reinforcing their squads, yet Chris David is the height of our activity so far. Keeping the faith though, and I'll reserve judgement until Feb 1st.

I've just realised the article has got his age wrong. He actually just turned 30 this past week, I know hardly a big difference though.

wouldnt mind Cisse or Vydra (both having been linked) however if we got Vydra it would prob be in the summer if he doesnt gain promotion with Watford

Which Cisse is that?

Vydra has been outstanding this season but as you say I can't see him arriving in this window.

I have no idea why I put that as he is Austrian, I must of been confusing him with someone.

Fair enough I hadn't seen that link myself.

Only 14 matches this season -- 9 for Wolfsburg [1 in the German Cup]/ 5 for AUSTRIA.

His squad number is 5 so they obviously expected him to play more often. If he's been injured, it's obviously NOT been during international breaks.

I'd much rather we sign Christian Träsch, Wolfsburg. He's a defensive midfielder and a 25 has youth on his side. We could get him for about £3m so not too expensive either.

Emanuel Pogatetz nickname is "Mad Dog" because he is a very hard defender. Former England and Middlesbrough coach Steve McClaren said "He never, ever, gives less than 300% in performance."
