Sorry, but what is shocking about getting someone's name wrong? I know Lawro isn't that great a pundit but there's no reason to react so ridiculously over a pointless mistake.

Interestingly, he's been in the top five of our picking pool most of the season. I know he's been kicking my ass nearly every week.

Ollie I thought you were treated a bit unfairly yesterday by some of the more condescending regulars on here, and answered your question as honestly as I could.

However, I'm now wondering whether I wasted my time (even though the subject  was a valid one for discussion imo).

First of all I think the article itself is a non-story in that Lawro probably forgot who'd scored the goal, and just re-collected it might have been Gervinho.

Secondly, his predictions are usually based on sound reasoning if you'd actually read them, and if you're shocked just because he often has us down to lose away, then get over it - he's usually right!

I sort of agree with Chesch. I don't think he's totally biased against us but probably thinks the Fulham's, WBA,s and Crystal Palaces of this world don't deserve to be in the exalted company of the Big 4. But by and large his predictions are spot on. I just don't like him because he represented my country falsely as he was a crap defender from Preston. Rant over  :016:

I don't have a personal vendetta against him like many seem to, but Lawrenson's drab, unenlightened 'punditry' really sums up the BBC's laughable attempt at comprehensive football coverage. If they're serious about improving the quality of analysis, how can they honestly want to retain Shearer, Savage etc. Vialli and Klinsmann are the only worthy pundits recently employed by the BBC.

his most recent was in the confeds ... when spain where playing .. he was talking about isco asif he knew his life story saying he can't wait to see him come on etc ... not realising that isco was in fact with the under 21s and not even in the squad . ( this was near the end of the tournament also )
