Does Anyone Think Like I do That The Gap Is Closing?

I know some of the premier teams field weakened sides in the Cup
Competitions but not all.
With all the shocks around I do believe the gap between the premier
(and its over paid primma donnas) and the Football league is closing.
You can look at the Carling Cup as well Bradford Knocking out 3 prem
sides and the Arsenal had strong sides out against them.
The reason Im bringing this up is instead of clubs looking abroad for
players all the time, there could be some real bargains in the lower
leagues for some players to step up if they were given the chance.
Some could put on a better show than the  spineless mob
who masqueraded as Fulham FC on Saturday evening..

Last two lines true-but Cup has thrown up surprises  for longer than any of us can remember-think last set of results prove absolutely nothing-or do you mean that Brentford lad-Trotts or something worth a bid?

Not one particular player.
I just think the top sides spend too much time looking
abroad instead of scouting home grown talent in the lower
leagues...

Too many Prem teams look on the cup as something to endure. They tend to rest players and many overseas players do not see the cup in the same way as we do.

But the bottom half of the Prem this year does look the weakest we have seen for some time. Very average clubs who would struggle in The Championship. But money dictates transfers and English players are always far too expensive compared to overseas players.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I agree a bit I think the prem is not as good as it was  if you look at the top 4 race it's now out of 8 who could make it. a few years ago it was the same old teams every year. At one stage 3 English clubs where in the semi finals of the champions leauge 3/4 years running I doubt will have 1 this year. And the football league has pulled it's socks up as the championship is full of good teams last year all 3 promoted teams stayed up to. If we had held in to the dems we could have been pushing to be in that top 8.
