Got some weigh-ins, looking forward to receiving more.

In the meantime, here is today's tip (and it's a good'un): Overcoming the plateau

Losing weight is often compared to waging a war and, like many wars, in order to progress you will sometimes suffer setbacks.  Often these take the form of short-term weight gains, which are quickly reversed but occasionally, the weight-loss will plateau for a period.  The first step to overcoming this is to understand why your body is reacting in this way.

As you have been denying your body the calories that it craves, it fights back by extracting every last ounce of benefit from the food that you do feed it.  This means that, if you do slip a little and snack perhaps more than you should do, the effects are amplified by this reaction.

The only way to fight the plateau effect is to attack back for a short period.  Up the exercise, take on more protein and less carbohydrate, reduce sodium (which boosts water-retention) and review your meal planning (ensure that you are eating the right things at the right time of day for your lifestyle) for five to seven days.  This should reinforce your dominance over your body and bring you back on track.  If it does not, a quick visit to your doctor is probably in order as he can look at other, deeper underlying causes for the plateau effect.

Keep going!
