I think now that Jol is signed for another year we will see quite a few contracts agreed in the coming weeks. Got a feeling certain players were waiting to see if he was staying and therefore wanting assurances about the direction of the team in the next couple of seasons.

Bloody hell.

It seems that Goal.com have taken this 'Goal.com understands that...' article by reading this line from the article on the Guardian website about Jol staying:

"The club's priority is to tie down the goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and the defender Brede Hangeland to new deals – the pair are out of contract at the end of the season"
"We won't look back on this season with regret, but with pride. Because we won what many teams fail to win in a lifetime – an unprecedented degree of respect and support that saw British football fans unite and cheer on Fulham with heart." Mohammed Al Fayed, May 2010

COYW's!!!

i know it's goal.com but still....

Generally false speculation is transfer speculation and not contract speculation, so that's the optimistic part, but at the same time Goal has a horrible record. Which other 30+ player has received a two year contract over the past few years? I'd be pleased if he was given one but I don't expect he was.

A Humble Man

I will wait until the official announcement as this sort of journalism is lazy fiction.
