I saw this on another Fulham website. I thought it might be of some interest:

After the match I walked up to David Hamilton and, as this was my last home match this season, thanked him for all his work as public address announcer and match day emcee. I said never year, I will see you up here with the rest of us supporters. However, Diddy corrected me, saying The Chairman has refused his resignation and wishes him to stay so long as he is Chairman, so he says definitively that he will return next season. "He thinks I am a young man!: said Diddy. Then we talked a bit about the match and agreed it had been a comprehensively better performance than against our SW London rivals. The news that David Hamilton will "go on and on" and from the source was the brightest part of a bitter day under pleasant skies atthe end of a disappointing week for Fulham and a sorrowful week for Britain.

I think it is true, I'm in the very fortunate position of being able to have a chat with him each week, and (strictly for the humour value) I asked him if I was going to get an invitation to his surprise retirement party. He said then (QPR game) that Chairman Mo had told him to take more viagra and carry on until the two of them dropped. Now, he (Diddy David) may well have been reacting with horror at the idea of me being at his party, but he did look like he might be seriously thinking about carrying on.

We did try and sack him a few years back.

Still, this shows that Al-Fayed, and the club, learn from mistakes, which IS a touch of class.

I just Googled "Katherine Jenkins" and am now in a bidding war with Silvio Berlusconi for her services. Watch this space for further developments.

In the light of all the recent speculation about whether Diddy will be continuing with his matchday duties beyond the end of this season I took it upon myself to email him and clarify things directly.

His response was as follows:

Some months ago I told Mark Collins, the Fulham director, that I was thinking of making this my last season, basically because I thought the club might like to have somebody younger do the job. Subsequently I have had a meeting with the chairman who has persuaded me to stay on. His words were "as long as I am here, you are here".

You don't argue with that, and personally I hope that he is going to be here for a long time to come.

We actually had the news of David's rethink up last Wednesday morning here on the ESPN Fulham blog after Diddy sent me a mail on the morning of the Chelsea game.
