Not making a Mark: Fulham keeper Schwarzer turns down new contract offer

Meanwhile, Martin Jol has promised an announcement over new players with 10 players on loan or out of contract

Help the aged: Schwarzer (40) has been at Craven Cottage since 2008

Mark Schwarzer has turned down the offer of a new contract with Fulham.

The Aussie keeper, 40, has been at the Cottagers since 2008 and helped them to the 2010 Europa League final.

He signed a contract extension in January last year but manager Martin Jol has revealed talks to agree a new deal have stalled.

"We made an offer to them and he did not accept that," said the Dutchman. "We will hope to talk with him as well.

"There is no deadline with him."

With ten players out of contract or on loan, Jol said announcements over new signings would be made to strengthen a squad which has lost its last five Premier League matches after reaching 40 points.

"Next week and the week after you will get some news about players," he promised."I don't want to talk about it now as we still have a game to go.

"Of course there is a lot of players leaving us - seven, eight, nine - and there will be five or six new players in."

Fulham travel to Swansea for their final Premier League match of the season on Sunday.

Martin Jol insists he will be in charge at Fulham at the start of new season

Martin Jol: Staying at Fulham

Fulham manager Martin Jol has dismissed reports suggesting he will leave the club in the summer.

It has been a disappointing end to the season for Fulham, who have been sliding down the table with five straight Premier League defeats.

Gus Poyet - currently suspended at Brighton - has been linked with a move to Craven Cottage whilst Jol has been tipped to move to Everton to replace David Moyes.

But Jol, who signed a one-year extension to his contract earlier this season, rejected talk that he is frustrated by a lack of funds to strengthen his squad.

"I signed an option and that is a long time ago, ages ago," he said. "For me, there is no difference. It is not something from the last 48 hours as [the speculation] happened before.

"If people make up a little story and I speak about new players coming in, of course you need a little bit of money.

"They associate us with the chairman and he has to give us the funds, but we are healthy club.

"We will try to get some players in so there is no story. I am very happy. It is 10 minutes from my house, my girl is going to school and she loves it there.

"She had her first competitive match yesterday against another school and they beat them.

"She was happy, I am happy, the missus is happy and hopefully I can make the fans happy again as well."

Jol insisted he will be bringing in new blood in the summer - Wolves' Bakary Sako, Athletic Bilbao defender Fernando Amorebieta and Roma's Maarten Stekelenburg have all been linked with Fulham and the manager confirmed a deal is in place for one of them.

"It is not easy," Jol said. "We have to pay a lot of money for these players. Of course if you have got players on loan you won't generate a lot of money. They go back, you don't get any money for them.

"We have to be creative again but from the names you named, there is already one on the board. But I will talk to the press next weekend and we will confirm everything."

One player definitely at Fulham next season is right-back Sascha Riether after German club Cologne on Thursday confirmed he had made his loan spell permanent.

"We agreed a deal with Cologne so he will stay here," Jol said. "We took the option, we spoke to them.

"Of course we had that option last year and we took it before May 15 so he will be our player next year."

While Riether's future is sorted, Jol is still speaking to Fulham chief executive officer Alistair Mackintosh about others whose contracts soon expire.

One such player is veteran goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who last week claimed there had been no offer on the table to extend his stay past the summer.

"We made an offer to them and he did not accept that," Jol said. "We will hope to talk with him as well. There is no deadline with him."

Fulham joins West Ham and Chelsea in new deal

Premier League outfit Fulham FC has agreed new kit supply deal with German apparel giant Adidas.

The 'long-term partnership' sees Adidas, which supplies kits to fellow London-based Premier League sides Chelsea and West Ham United, replace Italian brand Kappa as the team's official technical kit supplier.

The deal marks the Cottagers' third spell in Adidas kits, having previously worn the brand's three stripes between 1977-81 and 1997-2003.

Along with Fulham, Chelsea and West Ham, Adidas has kit deals with a number of other Premier League sides, as well as Uefa Champions League finalists Bayern Munich, Serie A club AC Milan and La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The exact duration and financial terms of the contract were not released however Kappa were thought to be paying US$2 million-a-year.

Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackintosh said: "Adidas has a fantastic football heritage and tradition and I know that we will work well together. The synergy between the two organisations has led to a partnership that promises both brands a platform on which to achieve success.

"We are looking forward to producing a range of products that the fans will be proud to wear and featuring Adidas technologies such as ClimaCool and ClimaLite."

Adidas senior manager commercial clubs, Steve Holland, added: "Fulham is a very welcome partner to Adidas' strong portfolio of football clubs both globally and in the UK. We share a successful history together and look forward to an exciting, long and rewarding future partnership."

Premier League: Swansea and Fulham have one eye on next season ahead of final game

Swansea host Fulham on Sunday and although both sides have little to play for they will certainly be looking forward to next season.

The Welsh side were part of Sir Alex Ferguson's farewell occasion last week at Old Trafford before finally losing 2-1 to Manchester United.

And, on Sunday, they will be hoping to celebrate with their own fans after what has been another fantastic year. The home side could finish as high as eighth if West Brom lose at The Hawthorns to United.

It would be a fitting reward for Michael Laudrup's side who won the League Cup earlier in the season after beating Bradford 5-0 at Wembley.

Laudrup will also hope that star striker Michu can add to his 22 goals in what has been an outstanding debut season.

This week the Spaniard was honoured at the club's end-of-season ceremony by claiming the supporters' player of the year, players' player of the year, away player of the year and top goalscorer awards.

For Fulham, it has been a strange end to the season having reached the 40 point mark in mid-April.

Martin Jol will want his side to put on a show for the travelling fans, especially following their 3-1 defeat at home to Liverpool last weekend.

A lot will depend on Fulham's own star striker - Dimitar Berbatov - and, if the Bulgarian plays to his potential, then the Cottagers' travelling support might just have something to cheer.
