QuoteDimitar Berbatov's agent Emil Danchev has confirmed that the striker will remain with Fulham next season.
Players better off at Fulham according to Jol
The 32-year-old still has a year left on his contract, but has been linked with a move to Russia, after Zenit St Petersburg confirmed its interest.

However, Danchev, Berbatov's representative, insists the former Manchester United and Tottenham star will honour the deal he has at Craven Cottage.

"He has another one-year contract with Fulham and he will stay at Fulham until the end of his contract," he said.

"He's happy at Fulham and he wants to stay another year. I don't want to comment on other clubs. Even if there is interest, he's happy in Fulham and he wants to stay. He will play football for at least two more years."

Danchev praised the Russian Premier League in a prior interview, as he told Izvestia: "The Russian League is growing seriously and should soon become one of the leading championships in Europe so to play in that country would be interesting."

Berbatov scored 15 Premier League goals in his first season at Fulham last term after joining from Manchester United.

Thats one we dont have to worry about then? Maybe?

What about after next season? :(

We'll deal with it then, but by that time he'll be 33 and a doubt Fulham will be building a team around a 33 year old. They may go back to him with a years extension if Jol is still at the club.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I'm on the pavement
Thinking about the government
The man in the trench coat
Badge out, laid off
Says he's got a bad cough
Wants to get it paid off
Look out kid
It's somethin' you did
God knows when
But you're doin' it again

Woodrow should definitely be given a chance to shine next year or so.

one more season with us and Berbatov will then be out of contract and able to move on at no transfer cost to another club. That means he should pick up a lucrative contract with a club of his choice and we would have paid a transfer fee of 5m pounds for 2 years service.
I wouldn't say that makes Berbatov one of our best buys.

Plus roughly £50k p/w in wages = About £10.5m. Exactly what we paid for Andy Johnson's transfer fee alone

For that we'll likely have got 30 goals out of him. All of which will have been vital. I expect he'll sign an extension anyway. He's been worth the money just for entertainment value, been an absolute delight to watch.

In one season he's scored almost as many as AJ scored in four seasons with us.

As part of the 2 year contract, I'm sure I read/was told that United are still paying a percentage of his wages. I could be wrong, but what happens after those 2 years when he demands 80-90k a week again, he'll be off.

I saw this headline & thought it was Agent-Speak for, "Come & get me in the Winter Transfer."  Hope I'm wrong b/c I enjoy watching him play but I think if he were off, it'd improve overall team play.
