Count Berbatov

I am kind of iffy about it myself. He's got potential but I'm not sure.. something is wrong with him. Shoots when should pass, passes when should shoot... But I like that he constantly wants the ball. Could convert to play in front of the defense, deep lying midfielder. Certainly has the energy for it

Berbatov has Cantona's knack of being the man amid a stampede towards the door who stops to notice a side exit that nobody else has seen.

Jonathan Northcroft on Berbatov:  "...like a man in silk pyjamas shooting pigeons from a deckchair"

Not sure I'd want someone who makes the wrong decision playing that far back :P

I really like taarabt but wonder if I've been watching a different player to most on this thread. He's great on the ball yes, but he's not blessed with great pace and almost never looks to go past people.

Most of the time he drops deep, picks up the ball, runs with it for a bit, lays it off, then loiters on the edge of the box instead of getting stuck in there and poaching a goal. Don't get me wrong, the lad has class and I'd love to have him sign, but...sound like anyone we know? *cough Bryan

I don't know, maybe Jol sees something else in him. If he could improve his tackling then he could fill the CM role. He'd be a decent link player and - like Moussa - he can use his dribbling to turn the opposition midfield. Any thoughts?

Went past Hangeland with relative ease in the QPR away game.

Played the last 2 seasons in the prem and hardly set the world on fire.....
Sound like anyone???? I almost thought we were discussing a different player for a minute.

No, definitely discussing Taarabt. Would be silly not to on a Taarabt thread, wouldn't it???
I was being polite when I said he's hardly set the world on fire! In other words, I find him pretty useless! And so do most of his past & present managers judging by the number of times he either doesn't start or gets substituted.

His positional sense is appalling. He got a 220 outside Charing Cross hospital when surely he would have been better walking to Hammy Broadway and picking up a 72 or 283..

Stefano Okaka Chuka

NO. He's rubbish, all he seems able to do is cutting inside in slow motion and unleash a mozzarella of a shot that even a disabled goalie would save. I think he has scored less than 5 goals in two seasons of Premier League football.

I would hate to see him in our treasured white shirt. Let him rot in those fictional/God foresaken places like Fenerbache or Galatasaray.. Please NO !!!

Sammyffc

apparently his been sent home from qprs pre season training or the tour , can't remember what i read .. we will see what happens !

I laughed at the very thought of this happening, and yet Twitter seems to be making the story snowball and snowball.
