I wonder is he looking to bring a young striker in or a well known developed one such as a Gomis, Papiss Cisse or BA....
I would take Torres for 10million as long as he drops his wages to 40k a week :-)

Why do you assume he wasn't referring to Bent? If Bent's banging them in every week he'll soon become a fans favourite.

Top 12 - Wow lofty ambitions, i know realistically this is reasonable, but come on ambitions for the season top 12. Poor Martin just poor. Also looks as if Bent is nowhere near where the press think, he said that Taarabt was having a medical when he was.

possibly.... just got the impression he wasn't referring to Bent.
he will be a fav of mine personally, have always liked him and I think he is a very good goal scorer.
Met him once at a concert and was a really nice bloke also.

I think Jol makes very clear he wants what most of us have been saying. Clearly there is frustration there but he sees the next few weeks as the chance for us to have a good side and balance or struggle without getting in the players he wants. So no news is good news.

Does he say that?  I've only read the text, not seen the video, but all I see here is:  "We always had four strikers and now we've got two with Rodallega and Berbatov, so we need players."  ...  "And in midfield as well, and maybe at the back because you don't know what will happen in the last couple of weeks."  Nothing, in there at least, says to me that he thinks we need a creative central midfielder as opposed to another holding player like the oft-discussed Enoh.

I reckon we probably inquired as to Parker's price, but didn't have any firm interest and Spurs are playing QPR to make them up their bid.

parker and another CM would be good. my hope is that sidwell and karagounis will be bit part players this season.
