I just might have a look at their display at half time against WBA...

I would like to say that I will be offering my  full, unequivocal support(not that they need it) as I'm sure you all will..........all in the best possible taste.

Oddly enough the ROAR collaborated with the Crystal Palace Girls on some sort of music video last spring after CP got promoted.

I am far too old and sensible to be interested in this - anyone have some more links?  Mind you who remembers the Fulhamettes? Now they were true, made in Blighty, cheerleaders.  On second thoughts...........

Do these girls get paid to do their...euhm... sport (?), act (?) in the U.S. ? Otherwise I understand where the transfer money went!
No forum is complete without a silly Belgian participating!

They'll need to wear sensible vests and bloomers when they come to the cottage though, otherwise they'll catch their deaths of colds with that chilly breeze coming off the Thames.

What?  :49:

My understanding from a few friends of friends is that they get paid a small fee per game, plus expenses, but mainly do it not for the money but because of some combination of A) they grew up involved in dance and this is a way to keep doing so as an adult if you don't have the talent or commitment to be a professional ballet dancer or the like; B) they support the team and it's a great way to be involved plus see the games without having to pay for tickets; C) they get to be local celebrities and have lots of people looking at them; D) they're aspiring actresses/models hoping to build their CV or be "discovered.

This is basically right.  How much they are paid varies by team.  None of them (AFAIK) pay very much, but it's good exposure sometimes.

When she was in law school, my wife knew a girl who was one of the cheerleaders for the New England Patriots.  I think it was just something she did on the side to help pay for school.

great role models for all 8-12 y.o girls out there  fp.gif

What with 'Cheerleaders' at the next home game and misogynistic / pornographic posts swamping the Fulham FC 'Official' Facebook site, I , as a woman supporter of this once great club,  feel very strongly that any young women and girls who want to become part of our 'family' must feel very alienated and I suspect quietly very angry at the moment
Wouldn't it be great if instead, we could have an FFC  team playing in the Women's Premier league ?
Sometimes I think our club is travelling in a 'backwards' direction....and that's not just having Jol as a manager ! :dft007:

This will seem rather shallow comment  but i've been a bit put out this season that there is no female size Fulham replica shirts available. Maybe there is a good reason for it e.g. they didn't sell many in previous years. I'm going to get a male training shirt anyhow but thought it's a shame they didn't cater for the female fan. I've ridden a motor bike for nearly 40 years and because that is a male orientated hobby the gear available for women is very sparse as well.

I do feel that if women feel agreived about something they should voice their opinion, maybe dropping a line to the club would be worth while. I'm all for standing up and being counted.

When we had a womens team I said at the time the womens league needed to change the time of their league so it wouldn't clash with the mens. To an extent they have done that. I watched a few Fulham ladies games live and usually watch the games on tv. I can understand why Al stopped the team but it is time to have a womens team again especially with the American owner.

Football is a wonderful sport (which is why I am so frustrated when it is played in a negative way). So let's have more of it during the Summer with a womens team.

As for pretty cheerleaders. It really will not last over here and it can get the kids who want to dance be fit and think better of themselves. So good luck to them.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

Well, at least Kaitlin managed to pronounce West Brom correctly, but really? REALLY?

How do you know her name? Someone been actively stalking their pages?

Obviously you hearing goes when your eyes are fixated on certain prominent features of the lovely ladies - they both said their names at the beginning!!!  :dead horse:

:plus one: on shirts !
Don't worry, I often hassle the club on these kind of subjects......they don't really seem to 'get it' .....or should I re-phrase that and  say that, they don't seem to 'want' to get it.
Anyway....here's to all female FFC supporters. 049:gif

As for Kids dancing to get fit.....that will be 'girls' .....and girls in 'tarty' outfits. I know many young women and girls who feel that this is not the way they want to be represented in a huge public arena in front of thousands of men !
It also re-inforces the stereotype that men play football, ( and earn ridiculous amounts of money ) and women sit on the sideline.

Some girls will always want to dress up as their favourite pop star even if that means Kylie in her gold knickers. I think we sadly live in a society where a few older girls want to be famous for being famous. It doesn't mean that society brands ALL women like that. I was born in the Fifties and brought up in the Sixties where they asked women at Job interviews at eighteen,'when will you be married and having a baby'. So society has changed its attitudes. So have women in that society. I think if we begin to say to young girls that wanting to be fit and dance is somehow wrong or demeaning then it is placing a guilt on them that says everybody will ogle you and make you feel dirty. It doesn't have to be like that.

As for the WAGS who sit on the sidelines. They do it because they can. Not all girls will be tempted. There are sadly as many idiot women as idiot men. Not sure cheerleaders do more than make people feel they should be enjoying things. Not sure any girl will feel it is a lifestyle choice unless they want it to be.

as much as I'm surprising myself to say this, I'm not a fan of cheerleaders at the Cottage. I think they're fine in certain arenas but I don't think they're right for Fulham and it's family club atmosphere. And I don't like them trying to get 8-12 y/o girls along. If girls like dancing then look up to the people on Glee or So You Can Dance (not that I've ever watched these shows) rather than American cheerleaders

So long as it's a one-off I don't see any harm in it. It'll be a weekend away for the Jagwaar girls and a bit of harmless fun for Fulham.
