Says a lot about the Fulham Academy that he's there and not at Chelsea.

Maybe we'll at least be at the front of the Chelsea loan queue next season. Cynical me.

so he moves a mile down the road?

Makes perfect sense. As a manager, he's not allowed to register his own Son with the Chelsea Acadamy. Put him at Fulham just down the road, drop him off on the way to work and monitor his progress.

How many kids at Chelsea's academy have gone on to play in their first team in past 12 years?  Theres your answer as to why he chose not to go there.

Is that true?  If so, how come?

but using that same degree of logic, wouldn't he have chosen Aston Villa, Southampton, or Everton? There's not a lot of folks who came here under the age of 15 who have become first team fixtures either.

I doubt he'd want to move halfway across the country. Still only young; won't want to be away from his family. Being at Fulham means Mourinho can keep a close eye on his development whilst knowing he's in good hands at our academy.

And if he proves to be premiership quality dad grabs hold of him as soon as he is of an age to sign professional forms , signs him for Chelsea and says what a nice family club Fulham are.
