I've said for some time that Lambert is class. I didn't see the game but I followed Southampton a bit last season. He's Rooney-esque but a bit more physical.
Hope things work out for him and he doesn't end up as a Zamora/Davies case.

I'd take him over Carroll any day of the week.

Although Gerrard got the man of the match (and he did have a good game, albeit against pretty limited opposition) I thought Lambert was a revelation, best player on the pitch.

The Ukraine will be a different class and a far sterner test though.
