Stats, it's a funny old world.

Not a lover of stats but some people who post seem fond of using them in their arguments.

According to sky these are the top teams for shots on target this weekend.

Manchester City  5 shots on target and lost
West Ham 6 shots and lost
Liverpool 6 shots and won
Fulham 5 shots and lost
Sunderland 5 shots and lost.......................Interesting.

Bottom two are:-
Stoke 1 shot
Chrystal Palace 0 shots.

stats mean poo all when there not in context - Cardiff had 22 shots in total maybe not on target but it doesnt mean they were far off!! Face it we have been outplayed every game this season including our accidental win at sunderland!

Shots on target stats are meaningless because teams who are struggling in a match often resort to long distance pea rollers that are on target but saved with embarrassing ease. Also, shots from inside the box blocked at close range don't count. What we can say about Fulham is that we need players to supply Berbatov and Bent with chances in the box, yet against Cardiff Bent was anonymous and Berbatov was forced to drop deep and was ineffective.
