Ah Volare ! It came out around 1958 I think and was an enormous hit and there were about ten versions by various singers to choose from. Not many people on this board were born then. Who could possibly have seen that the tune would be one day used by football fans everywhere.

It was the Italian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958. Britains entry was Sing Little Birdie by pearl Carr and Teddy Johnson. We still have'nt learnt, have we?
