People have often talked about the curse of Al Fayed when players leave the club.

We disrespected him by taking the statue down.

Saying that, we have been awful for well over a year now.

We've been awful since  Sunderland and the Hangerland dismissal.  The seeds were sown before that though. Mis management of existing star players and allowing them to leave, demotivating core players by singling out their mistakes, signing ego players who would never fit a club like us, lack of fitness training, insisting on playing players out of position to play a system that Jol wanted but didn't and still doesn't fit the playing personnel....And all the rest of the disasters...need I go on.

It was a huge mistake by MAF to employ him in the first place.  One I'm sure he would rectify were he still here.
