Can Giorgos Karagounis be our Ryan Giggs?

I know we all want the age of the team to be less and less but I think in the relegation battle that we are currently in Rene needs to rely on the experienced players to get us out of this.  If we can get 70 minutes out of Kara every game I think he can be Fulhams Ryan Giggs.  Rene has seen how to use Ryan and I think that he is taking a page out of Sir Alex and realizing that the ancient greek is still class and can help this team.  I know it is crazy after just 2 games to say that Kara has enough in him for the whole year but you never know!!

Big Martin Jol

Perhaps Paul Scholes might be the more pertinent example, but I see your point. He's definitely proving his value right now - amazing to think that we (briefly) let him go in the summer.

That said, I do think that Muelensteen will look to bring in a longer term partner for Parker in January.

Karagounis can still be of use though, and to be honest I'd rather have him coming on for the last thirty minutes than Sidwell. You know what you're getting with the Greek whereas there's "good Sidwell" and "non-league Sidwell".
Scott Parker is the greatest living Englishman.

St Eve

I hope that you are right. On his current form he is massive.

You shouldn't compare any player with Giggs. It just embarrasses both men.

Thats true, not many men would sleep with their brothers wife for seven years.

Pahahahahaha literally spat my drink out.... Good response Yarden

In response to the original post I don't see why not on his current form. Can't wait to see him in the world cup with Greece

I certainly wouldn´t. You havn´t seen her. When she turns over in bed my brother told me she burns her bottom on the ceiling light bulb.

Nothing wrong with having a talented geriatric in the team - whatever his sexual proclivity. It's when you fill the side with ageing Lotharios that you start to run into problems.

Hope you mean his football talents and not fiddling about with his brother's wife.... :dft001:

Karagonis is a top player. I hope he is here for a long while, can be as influential as Danny Murphy. Perhaps even becoming involved with the coaching when he does retire.

Not sure if you're commenting on the spelling here (which is wrong) or actually don't know who he is..

Justin Fashanu was the first (and still only?) professional footballer in the English league to come out as gay.. He subsequently killed himself following some sort of sexual assault allegations.

Way out of order.

Julius Geezer

Make him Rene's number 2.

If those 2 can't motivate a team, no one will.

Karagounis is a pure joy to watch, even for only 70 minutes,he is slowly replacing Duff as my favourite.

RaySmith

He's not another Giggs - he's the one and only Karagounis!
