Explanation please

Can anyone explain to me what purpose all those extra referees serve? Do they actually make any decisions? Have they actually ever made a decision? Do we charge them an admission fee given that they have a prime position on the goal line?

Every gang or group of people have a few hangers on. The refs mum says that he has to bring them along.' But Mum they are sooo useless and boring ' Eventually the other officials get on with the party while these extra blokes hang about by the goal.

They are there Corky to aid the referee with goal area and cross the line decisions, it is a great idea so that when 6 foot tall black haired  kelly runs along side Reisse in the box coming towards them they can tell the ref that it was 6ft 5 inch blonde haired  Hangeland who committed the foul and should be sent off, all clear, make sense to you now?

...seeing as not one of the 5th and 6th officials had the nuts to come forward over any decisions at any game, and even if they did they were ignored or when consulted clearly didn't have a clue, they are as much use as a whores chastity belt.
