Watching the rerun of some of his stuff. What a great comedian he was.

The ten pound note sketch is a classic

Absolute legend.
Nice to see his stuff being reshown - it's a rare occurrence.

He was so self-defaecating, particularly with regard to religion.

I remember him saying once that if paradise was where all the goody-goodies go then he'd rather go to the other place where all his friends would be as that would be paradise for him.

Yes I agree. I don't have any time for religion today but was brought up as a Catholic. The last sketch was a good one for me where all religions were all over the place and the Catholics were behind the wall as they wanted to think they were the only ones there. That is what was taught when I was a lad. To be told that my mum who was not a Catholic would not go to heaven when she died was terrible. But a mass murderer who was sorry for his crimes would. Send me to the other place as the real evil people are up top.

"may your god go with you"

Being pedantic, but wasn't it " May your God go WID you."?.

Great to hear his jokes and see his sketches again. Still funny after so many years.

At his best sat in the chair with a fag & a G & T on the go
Fully engaged the audience - both the live one & us watching on T.V.
Just to sit there & entertain with stories - great skills, great comedian

Class act. Saw him live once. Spellbinding. Just him the high stool and a minibar. Over two hours. Unique
