Think Ings would be a very good signing. What do we have to lose with someone like him? We're not scoring enough goals and taken on a young english striker whos scored 16 goals already in the championship wouldnt be that bad a signing. And if worst comes to worst, and we really do go down this season, we have a proven goal scorer in that league...

Pointless chasing him as Burnley will not sell him unless its a high amount. Papers say we will offer around £4 million for him...Look at what Southampton paid for Jay Rodriquez (think it was around 7-8 million) and plus it the January window/they know how desperate teams like us are right now.

We wont get him if we offer 4 Million at least double that is needed

My feelings exactly. We'd be mad to bring in a big name on really high wages, when he'd be off if we get relegated (and probably for a lot less than we bought him for). We may as well cash in now and try to save ourselves from relegation/put measures in place to make sure we bounce back up next season.

Nothing to lose, everything to gain, and certainly cheaper and more likely to join than an already-established name.

Can't see it happening though. Going through his mind must be the fact that he will be playing premier league football next season with Burnley, whereas he could end up in the Championship if he came over to us.

cheaper? will cost 8 million plus. just cos we bid 4 million doesn't mean it will be excepted. infact it wont

Don't forget the rest of my sentence... "cheaper...than an already-established name".

At the moment, we're apparently just throwing a wad of dull darts at the wall just to see if something happens to stick. Hopefully, we'll refine our methods in the next couple of weeks and get a couple of contributors in......something more significant than, say, Larnell Cole (not knocking the player, but he's not what we need in the immediate).

should be noted he is from Winchester he may fancy a move nearer home.

Also we are now 12/1 for Rhodes and 33/1 for lambert, unlikely to sign any of these I believe.

I,m surprised Paul Lambert is leaving Norwich, fits our age bracket though. :005:
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

Nick Bateman

He looks rather good.  What happened to the first half of his surname though?
