Macedo

My Dad was a mad Fulham fan born in Parsons Green
his hero was Tony Macedo, hence my name on here. His job took
him to the lovely city of Aberdeen where I was born and reside.Mad
Aberdeen Dandies fan (now slowly on way back after the Fergie years).
They have some great young players from their excellent Academy, Jack
Grimmer joined Fulham from it...Fulham have always been my other team
and when I was a kid Mum Knitted me a scarf in Red, white n black
The colours of both teams..I have managed to see the whites a few times
Over the years but it a long way from Aberdeen..Aberdeen nearly
Got relegated for the first time in their history  a few years ago, gets
the bloodpressure up, dont want to go through that again with Fulham.
Lets hope we can escape..

My Dad used to say he was the best since sliced bread.
Lol

Sgt Fulham

Parsons Green huh?

If you have no idea what I mean by that then don't worry and welcome!

grandad

Welcome. One of our legends . Graham Leggat came to us from Aberdeen.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most...

Macedo was one of the Brylcream boys, he piled it on. For the younger generation, Brylcraem was earlier and looser version of hairwax.

Beckham knows a bit about Brylcreem.............or at least he did until he converted to a crew-cut.

Yes from my dads era..App they played Aberdeen in a friendly at
Pittodrie, part of the deal for Leggat, first game under floodlights
there..Aberdeen won 4-3, they played it silk red shirts to shine in the
Floodlights..

Fernhurst

Welcome on board Macedo. Your monikor was my favourite ever keeper. So glad to see him back for visit a couple of years ago.

I once saw a Scotland v England Under 21 game at Pittodorie. The only person I can remember from that night was Dennis Tuart (Man City) who was appearing as an overage player.

Are Inverness Caley Thistle above you? That must be difficult.
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

Macedo

No Aberdeen are 2nd behind Celtic, b nice to be back in
Europe again..

Travers Barney

Welcome

I was born in 1963 in St Teresa's Hospital Wimbledon as was Tony Macedo's child and my Mum and Tony's wife used to take their respective children to nearby Cottenham Park SW20 in the spring of 63....no doubt enjoying some nice weather after the most harshest of winters.

Do remember reading that Fulham had a close affinity with Aberdeen in days gone by.

Fulham fans used to sing 'We all agree Macedo is better than Yashin' after the late great Russian custodian.

Hi, likewise Tony Macedo was my hero growing up so hence my username here. He even played on the right wing once after getting injured. Probably do a better job than some of our current misfits.

...there is another link to Fulham, Aberdeen and to goalies. The late Ian Black was born and bred in Aberdeen - he played for Fulham from 1950 to 1957 (last game being the 2-1 victory against Huddersfield Town in November) and he was succeeded by Elio (Tony) Macedo...

PS: Welcome...

Fortunate to see Tony Macedo from his very first game. Is still in my best ever line up, mind you van der Sar runs him close.

Good info Les. He was our main 'keeper when I first used to go with me long gone father.
