With such a hectic transfer day - who forgot that we still don't have a left back ?

Technically we have three of them.

I make it four if incuding Amorebieta and Heitinga as they can both play there

Disappointing but I think we have enough quality and in the right areas to stay up. Will need to work on how to protect that left side in training.

Four including Amorebieta, Riise, Richardson, Briggs.  Heitinga has never played left back.

Not one of the four you mention are prem class. Despite what looks like some positive signings this is a big oversight and could prove costly.

Amborietta is a CB and unproven at this level
Richardson - injury prone and out of form
Briggs - sick note
Riise - please !!!!!

Couldn't be happy for one night?  We did very well today and hopefully they all gel well in the coming weeks.  People also tend to raise their game when others around them step up.  Give it a chance...

I'm not saying they're good enough for the Premier League.  Amorebieta isn't a left back (though I'd say 8 years at the top level in Spain makes him proven at this level), Richardson is a terrible defender, Riise is past his best, and Briggs can't stay healthy long enough for us to even see whether he's good enough.  I'm saying we have them, contrary to the assertion that "we still don't have a left back".  We have to pay them whether or not they're good enough to play left back in the Premier League.
