rumour has it curbishley to take over from rene he has been taking training sessions and looks to be taking over as rene has lost 8 out of 10 games.thats us gone then

WORTHINGFULHAM

Seriously...another wum. Rene signs a record signing for the club and then he is relived of his duties not long after....jesus muppet central tonight.

Northern Cottager

Agreed Worthing, no way they'd back him with god knows how many players and then sack him.

Sammyffc

I'm going to sound like a proper **** but i LOVE rene , dont get me wrong , but defensively i think curbs could sort us out , wilkins needs to sod off

Anti Fulham you mean!

Rhys Lightning 63

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't Alan Curbishey keep West Ham up back in 07, when all seemed lost. Just saying
@MattRhys63 - be warned, there will be a lot of nonsense

Apologies if I cause a melt down, but...

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/fulham-boss-rene-meulensteen-set-3054474

Rene Meulensteen is set to be replaced by Alan Curbishley as Fulham's collapse towards relegation reaches crisis-point.

Curbishley, appointed as Fulham's technical director over Christmas, has been regularly taking training sessions and there is a contingency plan to draft in the former Charlton and West Ham boss as manager in a last throw of the dice to avoid relegation.

Fulham have lost eight out of 10 Premier League games under Meulensteen, culminating in yesterday's 3-0 home defeat to Southampton, which sent the Cottagers to the foot of the table.

Despite signing six players in the final two days of the transfer window, Fulham will consider ditching the Dutchman before their fate is sealed, unless there is significant improvement with their next two games

Most Fulham players were pleased to see Dimitar Berbatov leave the club on loan for Monaco on deadline day, as they believed him unsuited to a relegation fight.

But former Manchester United coach Meulensteen needs his new signings to make a quick impact if the head coach is not to depart before his contract expires in May and three of Fulham's next four League matches are against United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

After yesterday's set-back, he said: "Without doubt, this is the biggest challenge I have ever faced in football. And it is the biggest challenge this club has faced.

"What we cannot afford to do is lay down and feel sorry for ourselves. We cannot do anything about what has gone. We can only get as many points as we can from the 14 matches we have left."

Pluto

I'm pretty sure they just made this up.

RaySmith

Well Curbishley does have a lot of experience of keeping a small club in the Prem.

RaySmith

Might be a good idea though- Curbs has a lot of experience, and keep Rene as coach. I don't know......

It is frustrating - because I don't think we are as bad as everyone says, but with no luck with early chances, chasing games and  naïve defending we are shooting ourselves in the foot, and when we concede we fall apart due to our lack of confidence.

All we need is a couple of wins.........!!!!

supersimmo123

Keep Rene in a coaching capacity and get Curbs making team selections subs etc. For instance, Duff - really Rene!

DUKE

this has been going through my mind all afternoon...i dont want rene to go but i cnt see him being given too much time with the amount of goals we have shipped in.

Look at the threads on this page and it will all become clear. Rene is going nowhere. We have just signed two United players so Rene will stay. What stupid things happen in and around him I have no idea.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I will try again tomorrow I think, so tired I allways fell asleep looking at this thread with laptop on my lap, been a hard day and day beside the match. Good night!

I sincerely hope this ends up as rubbish!

Rene took over & we started to play football again.
Curbishley appeared on the scene & all of a sudden we play differently & start loosing again!
I wondered at the time if his input would affect us.

What the hell is a Technical Director anyway?
COYW!!! Bring back Rene! But I do like Slav!
