René says Kostas Mitroglou is improving in training all the time, but couldn't speculate as to his involvement on Sunday

Our Head Coach confirmed that John Heitinga is fully fit ahead of the trip to Old Trafford

René on Fulham's current predicament: "Life throws you challenges, and you have to rise to those challenges."

René: "After every poor performance you look for a response and it's my job to make sure we get that response on Sunday."
@MattRhys63 - be warned, there will be a lot of nonsense

Time for you to make your mark, Rene...

I don't expect a result from Old Trafford, but I do expect a battling performance, and more of what we saw in the games you had responsibility for before Wilkins and Curbishley hit the scene.

That's not too much to ask for, is it?

Agreed, I think there been enough talking, performances and results need to come. Last chance Saloon.

What?! No obligatory, "Yeah we've been crap on game days, but you'd never know it watching us train."?

I too think the time for talk has ended. We've got to put together 90 minute performances that are worthy of this league.

Spot on, and to date, we've not managed to pull off a single outstanding performance that's ended in us taking all 3 points.

I'm not talking about United, as I'm not expecting to get anything there, but if we are to stay up, we need to be nicking something off an Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle or the likes at home and beating those around us.

That's the bottom line, it can be any more simpler than that.

Agree with you although i would add liverpool to the not expecting part, anything from the games against Utd, Pool, City and Chelsea is a bonus, we need to target the other ten games

I know that some on here have suggested that now, versus United and Liverpool, is the time for a take no prisoners all out attacking mentality, but I think just the opposite would be the shot in the arm we need. We need to defend at all costs and work for a clean sheet out of these two games. Defend and counter. Take what they give us. Given all the talk of shipping out 30 goals in ten games, I'd say our major confidence issues are in defense. A clean sheet against United would be a Godsend.

He has got the support of Fergie now so all will be well and we will play 5 minutes extra time to get the winner http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26082996

Doesn't sound like Kosta will be playing from Rene's interview this afternoon. Looking forward to the 10 days (after liverpool) to get him ready for "challenges ahead".

"Sir Alex Ferguson was the first man to reassure me and say 'stick to your beliefs and know what you're capable of'," said 49-year-old Meulensteen.

I really bloody hope that means we'll go back to the midfield three and ignore Wilkins.

Andy Carroll could have done with the same advice - the elbow that is!

watching the video on the main site he seems pretty confident and positive.  Does he know something we don't?  Holtby, Glue, Kvist, Heitenga are all quality internationals and Winners.  They need to be in the team.

He's always confident - over confident - sempre.... What we need is a settled side which doesn't go all out attack every game they've got but works from a solid defence... Oooh we don't have one of those.

But you don't know if it is Wilkins do you, we are just making assumptions.
