Riether Gives Magath His Backing

The whole situation surrounding the appointment of Felix Magath has become pretty farcical but it has been done and it's time to look forward.

Sascha Riether is certainly doing this.

Magath has a reputation of being a hard taskmaster, working his players particularly hard in training and Riether knows first hand what this is like having worked with him at Wolfsburg previously.

He revealed that training has already been 'very very tough' but he has also welcomed Magath's appointment with him of the opinion that if the work is put in Fulham will stay up.

Riether told Sky Sports News: 'We are last in the table and I know how Felix Magath works. I had it three years in Germany. We have to work hard, but we will have success.

'He has to get to know all the players and the teams and all that is around the team but in Germany, he never got relegated with all the teams and he knows how to handle difficult situations, so I hope he will handle our situation as well.

'I trained very hard for three years, but we were champions in Germany with Wolfsburg and he had a lot of success with Bayern Munich as well. I hope we will have success with Fulham.'

The answer to the question as to if Magath would keep Fulham in the premier league was answered with 'of course'.

Anything in Boateng reports?
Richard Cawley has tweeted that Charlton are maintaining their interest in Fulham defensive midfielder Derek Boateng and will provide a full story in the South London Press later today.

Boateng was linked with French club Evian last month, but Ghana sources think that he may get a new leaf of life now that the management team at Fulham has changed: Boateng

Full sp, well sort of, on the 30-year old here: Career . Could he be the new Keith Jones?
