I'm aware that there are plenty of people on here who have the no how to break down stats and answer this question for me.

After not catching the game yesterday but checking the game throughout the first half and leaving it at 0-0 and then going out to find it ended 1-3.

I just feel that we keep shipping huge amount of goals in the 2nd half but I have no evidence to back this up. Also if that is correct than why do we keep conceding goals late on?

My question is could anyone tell me the break down of goals conceeded in the first half and the 2nd half.

Thank you

ron

While the calculators are clicking, I can offer the preliminary answer;   a/ Not many, and  b/ Loads .

...and the reason is mainly due to advancing years and a rather kind fitness regime at the Cottage.

For me, it was the loss of Brede'. We contained Chelsea very well the first half, and actually thought we'd get a point. Second half, they had the brains to swap thongs around, target our weak link, whereas we did nothing.

Same 7 on the first table you posted.

In the Martin-Rene-Felix season we've had two scripts that featured in at least 20 of our 28 matches:

1. Take an early one-goal lead, go negative at half-time, defend at all costs, and concede late -- usually more than once.

2. Play for 0-0, concede in the 2nd half, give up and concede 2 or 3 more

I can't remember gaining any points late in matches this season except at Old Trafford in the Rene Interregnum.

SO we can safely assume its not worth turning up at Cardiff until half time
