Who should feature in our biggest game of the season so far in a game we can simply not lose

For me

                              Stekelenburg
Riether       Heitinga       Hangeland        Richardson
                                   Kvist
Dejagah            Sidwell    Holtby            Kasami
                                      Mitraglou

Subs - Stockdale, Burn, Karagounis,  Parker, Kacaniklic, Tankovic,  Rodallega

fulhamben

Can't argue with that, you know jol won't pick anything like that though
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

My guess is Felix will go

                    Stekelenburg
Riether Heitinga Hangeland Richardson
                   Parker Sidwell
Dejagah              Holtby           Duff
                             Bent

Black, White and Fred

Stek,

Riether, Heitinga, Hangeland, Rise,

Ashkan, Kvist, Sidwell, Richardson,

Holtby, Rodders (Mitraglou if fit)

FPT

----------------------------Stekelenburg
Riether---------------Heitinga----------Hangeland------------------Riise
Dejagah---------------Sidwell----------Kvist---------------------Richardson
-------------------------------Holtby
------------------------------Mitroglou

Sit into a 451 without the ball, break quickly with Dejagah, Holtby and Richardson, trying to get the ball up the field and into the Mitroglou as quickly as possible.

We can't keep the ball and have 60% possession, so we may as well stay tight and solid, and use the counter attack.

Wimbledon_White

For me we need to keep Kasami as far away from the first team as possible.

My team would be:

Stek
Reither Heitinga Brede Riise
Kvist
Dejagah Sidwell Holtby Richardson
Mitroglou

What's wrong with Kasami?! He looked good against Chelsea and has been one of our better players this season.

Snibbo

Think we've got to have Richardson on left mid, with Riise at left back. Having Richardson at left back is a waste of his attacking talents, and he's not really a better left back than Riise.

Deanothefulhamfan

I would go with FPT's team, but it is not going to happen.... Felix likes Parker and Sidwell too much to give Kvist a go. Shame really....

This is the team that every sensible fan, knowing what they have seen this season, wants. This team has balance all over - a disciplined CM, a roaming one and a creative one, a striker who (we've been told) can play as a lone forward and players with good understanding of each other on both sides.

I just fear it will be nothing like this. If I see Kvist and Holtby on the bench again and Richardson not on the wing I'll cry.

I feel the same way - cried inside last saturday - the first game in 50 years I could have walked out on as soon as I heard the team announced - A shambles of a team who survived until they woke up - their team talk apparently was 'silence' - that translates as 'I cannot believe your not 3 up against this disjointed rabble' - Our team talk could have been similar 'I cant believe your not losing by 3 goals but hey give them time and you will be'!

If Mitroglou is fit, I think Magath will possibly play two strikers:

                         Stekelenburg

Riether        Heitinga       Hangeland      Richardson/Riise

                              Sidwell
Dejagah                                              Richardson/Kasami
                          Holtby/Parker

                   Mitroglou        Rodallega

Whether at left-back or left-flank, I expect that Richardson will play. I don't imagine, however, FM will play both Holtby and Kasami; it will be either Holtby and Richardson in midfield or Parker and Kasami.

I would like to see Richardson in the advance left sided role with Riise behind. Also the two men up front with Holtby behind. This would mean we were going for it. Sadly I have my doubts. But this team would be my pick.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I would like to 3 in the midfield
- we don't have pace to break
- we need the ball
Riise and Richardson has been our best left combo
I would like to be Holtby start so I have sacrificed Dejagah
And would like to see at least 60 mins of Mitroglou if not I think Rodellega can create more spaces than Bent
I also think Kara is our most creative CM but he too cannot last 90 mins !

Still

                              Stekelenburg
Riether           Heitinga           Hangeland        Riise
                                   Parker
Holtby            Sidwell             Karagounis           Richardson
                                      Mitraglou

i promised myself I would be really polite, and so i will.
BUT
why are so many of you pinning your faith in an unfit unproved player. In a dog fight you need 100% effort from every player for the whole match, mitro is not going to do that
Whilst i am a great critic of rodders he at least tries really hard and will pressure the cardiff back line, that is what we will need, he should start, or even kasami, BUT mitro, an unkown factor that couldn't manage 90 minutes for greece and from what i heard (but i didn't see) was pretty annonymous....  he is the one you put your faith in for our survival, surely not?

I chose to start him, because as you say he is an unknown factor.  If it doesnt work out or he isnt fit for the 90, let him try to make an impact then swap it up for Rodders.
