Was West Brom away. If we had won that game we would have been on 23 points & even with a defeat to Cardiff we would have been in touch with the teams above us.
That error from Stekelenburg is looking really costly now

Which one?, we are normally guaranteed at least one per game!

Both west brom games have cost us 4 points this season. Liverpool's last minute goal was another point dropped, the late one at Newcastle was another one dropped... Just those 4 games have cost us 6 points - we'd be on 27. Tiny margins make the difference between survival & relegation.

Stekelenburg has been terrible for us, I was excited when we signed him. Schwarzers long term replacement he is not!!

One Martin Thomas

West Brom at home, Cardiff at home, Swansea at home, Southampton at home, Sunderland at home... ?

Take the goals out of: Crystal Palace away,  Sunderland away, Stoke at home... and what did Fulham really give in these matches ?

Hull away ?

Read back the first line of my message... we were well beaten at home by four of those five clubs.  Every game has cost us.

bobby01

Ha has last year when the players realised they could get away with not bothering.
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

Me-ate-Live, innit??

IMO, The game that really cost us was the Hull Game
................. because it spooked Khan and he went looking for, and found Felix.

By this time,  Rene may have  had the whole team fit and we may have got 6 out of the last nine points .
However, we will never know ..............

Martin Tomas has hit the nail on the head. There is no one game. Relegation was on the cards way before xmas for one rreason. If you look at the history of really poor teams in the premier there is one thing in common. NONE can DEFEND. Goal difference does not matter so much, nor does goals scored. Even good teams struggle to score sometimes. It is goals AGAINST which is key to staying up. Fulham have been absolutely pants ALL SEASON and it started a long time ago. The seeds were sewn last season by Jol's mismanagement.

We've been the worst team in the league this season, and on the basis of that deserve to be relegated bottom of the table. I can't remember a game this season where we've properly dominated for 90 minutes.

Error for Stek?

Just ignoring the 5 world class saves he made to keep us in it?

Forgetting Magath reshuffled the defence mid-game?

Sunderland at home, that was our Cup Final and the players bottled it...

Another brainless idiot who can somehow blame our whole situation on Stek. Wow you are so delusional its funny and its posts like this that put me off going on this forum.

Exactly! Stek has made plenty of excellent saves throughout our games, but with a defence as awful as ours (and having to deal with 20+ shots every game) he's not going to save each one.

Magath subs have only instilled confusion midgame and you just see the players shouting at each other not knowing what's going on.

We have 25 points in our last 37 Prem matches. There's no "one game" that's cost us anything.

Ya, how is the blame being put on Stek? He's the one who has kept us in most matches, pulling off quite a number of fine saves. Can't see how people are blaming Stek here.

Stek's been pretty average by Prem standards this season, but he's among the least of this roster's issues.

i don't think anyone has said it is steks fault we are where we are but for a goalkeeper with his reputation he has been just another disapointment and for some of us, cannot see why you would not encourage stockers, a young english keeper, that is certainly no worse (and IMO better).

Steckers doesn't command the box, he doesn't make himself look big to oncoming forwards in the was schwarzer used too. Stockers actually used to look very good but i think was rather demoralised a year or so back when he really should have been promoted to first team number one.... steckers is a good shot stopper and seems to have a good handle on the angles but is symptomatic of the whole team, we could have done better. But it isn't his fault we are where we are, even if he has made more than an acceptable number of errors for an apparently untouchable player!

Artful Dodger

All you can say is that beating West Brom may have given the team some confidence as it looked shot yesterday. Can't see the players lifting themselves after that performance. Felix will have to do something magic to turn it around from that. At least when when we stayed up in 2008 there were signs of a team playing with a bit of confidence as we entered the last few weeks. I just don't see it here.

...was us beating Swansea away last season. This papered over the cracks and meant we kept Jol on for way to long.
