Riether at #10

It was an interesting move by Magath to bring Riether on into effectively the #10 position (i.e. free to roam), not to create chances but to take over the high pressing game as other players started to fade towards the end of the game.

Riether's got bundles of energy and it seemed that his brief was to just keep running and pressing.

Disagree. Would much prefer to see a forward thinking no10 on to press higher up the field & be of assistance in the opposing penalty area.

It did not work for me today & I felt we lost something when Kasami was taken off & Holtby put into the no10 role

But. We won so ultimately it did not matter

Reither played central midfield under Magath at Wolfsburg... I think it was a good move today.
Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"

Indeed, it seems the commentators (quite understandably, I guess) weren't aware that he has played CM for Magath quite regularly.

Just to reiterate. If you look at Wolfsburg title winning year you can see Dejagah and Reither switching sides and more often than not all over the park.
Self proclaimed tactical genius, football manager approved.
