agree really good to see him back and playing well. if we just get 5 more games from him that would do me as we have more chance of staying up with im playing.

sadly though (In my opinion) in the long term he wont ever be able to play a full season again. The knee is a terrible joint to have go on you and once gone once its liable to go again but twice and to come back is hardly ever done. With Careful management and picking your games he is worth 20-25 games a season in all competitions, and for me I would sign him next season for exactly that.
Every day is a Fulham day

Diara hasn't played a premier league game for ages and yet he comes in and plays a full 90 minutes of pure quality.
Makes you wonder about all that talk you hear of other players who are excused a poor performance because they are said not to be match fit.

Great to have him back and last a full 90. I've been skeptical reading the constant 'Diarra To Try And Win Contract' stories all over the place but if he can stay fit for 5 more games we could kick on.

Posted a few times, about 2 seasons ago, co-incidentally against Villa. 1-0 up about 30 to go.

Villa really on top and pushing for a goal. Diarra comes on and immediately game changes. Not like we are all over them but their attacks just stop. It was weird, you know when you watch Fulham and you are only a goal ahead, you fear the inevitable. He changed the game so much, I watched the last 30 in complete calmness.

Sidwell is brilliant. If Sidders could drop back and receive and give and go and receive etc, he would almost certainly be going to Brazil.

Sidwell doesnt really want the ball when our defenders have it. It is a specialist job. Murphy did it brilliantly. As posters have said, it makes our defenders more versatile.

All season its gone, keeper to Hangerland, to Amorbieretta back to Hangeland, oh poo back to keeper, hoof. It just causes the jitters.

I just hope his knees hold up. Imagine if he gets fitter and stronger

I was really impressed with Diarra, but as I said in another thread my unsung hero was David Stockdale, and my motm...

Such a better option than steklenberg, and warrants his place in the team. He kept us in the game again yesterday at crucial times.

If Diarra stays fit for 2 of the big home games we have a great chance of staying up.

Well said Deano.
He had a cracking game!

Came out well and kept us in the game with the Albrighton rifle and the tip-over. Good punch out as well.
Imo he is talking to the defence in front of him more now. Sign of a good keeper when the defence know that he's coming to claim the ball.

His spirit in Gee-ing up the players both before and after the match was great too.

Keep it up Stockers!

COYW!

I agree it was great to see him out there for 90 minutes, but to be honest lets face it he does not move too fast to get tired, he does not need to, his brain does mind you, that pass he is going to make when he gets the ball is already made in his head.

Sadly she wasn't

I saw the game on TV (except the last 4 minutes!!!!!! the tension nearly  killed me) and from what i caould see Diarra was the key difference in our play, that and what looks like the start of the better fitness levels working.

But the man was quality, mopping up, simple passes quickly delivered, a degree of professionalism and experience that the others just lack. The man is quality. My player of the season!

Alfie's right.  He looked slow.....very slow and tired.  But, like Bobby Moore he had the uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time.  And when he received the ball (or even went back to get it, he used it very well.  Very Danny Murphy like.
He could be a season-saver, but bad knees at his age?  Not a good sign, I'm afraid.  If we lose him to injury as I suspect we will, we might just have to go back to the ancient Greek, a tumble-down visionary with a great heart but not as good at moving the ball forward as Danny Diarra.

And credit to FFC for the way they have treated him?

i like how diarra let's sidwell be a bit more attacking, which is a very good thing
