Now I herd everything

On Monday it was hissing down with rain so it seemed the right thing to do to go and see the film ´Noah´. I came out feeling utterly confused after watching a 600 year old psychotic vegetarian attempt to save the world when he was told by God to build an ark. With the help of all singing, all dancing, talking volcanic rocks and a bottle of miracle grow he finally defeats carnivorous Ray Winston who was four to one odds on favourite. What a load of tosh, this is the worst film I have seen for a couple of years so it´s bound to be a big box office success. A sucker for punishment I went today to see ´Divergent´ this time the world is being saved by a sixteen year old girl heroine. Foolishly I went to the 15.20 showing in the afternoon and the cinema was full of schoolgirls who giggled and drooled over Hero Theo James for the whole two and a half hours. This has put me off going to see films for a while and I am looking forward to Saturday where the Thames will supply the water the goals will go in two by two and hopefully the lads will go a long way into saving our world by defeating Delia´s darlings.

Go and watch a film called Starred Up. It's a fantastic British prison drama - very gritty and sickeningly realistic. Should get quite a few BAFTA nominations if it goes down well later this year in North America.

Lighthouse

I have just watched Lincoln on DVD. No mention of the last game in the season encounter and the Roger Brown goal. Just a load of people talking about the minimum wage before Trinder gave Haynes freedom.

Now I 'herd' everything   :005: .

Off to watch school girls giggle and drool in the afternoon.

Nebraska, Wolf of Wall Street and Captain Phillips. Check em out. I also want to see Her which looks fantastic.

DiceMan

I would suggest Prisoners with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Gyllenhaal is fantastic as detective Loki!

westcliff white

captain phillips i didnt enjoy also apparently he fabricated a lot of the stuf fyou see in the film, that was according to some of the crew, but then they were cut out of the film rights. If I am right Noah has Russel Crowe in it, didnt he ruin a version of Robin Hood a few years ago?

Just keep him away from the mistletoe.

It's not as bad as something called "The Bling Ring" which I watched 30 minutes of the other day before actually shouting at my television and turning it off in a mood.  I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the thumbnail picture for the movie in the Lovefilm application was Emma Watson with a rather sultry "come hither" type look in here eyes.  I'm not made of stone.

Unfortunately the film itself is essentially seems to be a bunch of unrealistically pretty teenagers smoking weed and then breaking into Paris Hilton's house to try on shoes.  Seriously, that's it, over and over again.

Sofia Coppola needs to not be allowed to make movies.

...isn't that what Noah said?

Maybe we could throw mistletoe at the Norwich players to see if it has the same effect.

I've only herd good things about Noah. It is a Darren Aronofsky film though, so I fully expect it to be mindbendingly insane.

See Black Swan, Pi, The Fountain.

Now you're beginning to sound a little dodgy there Mr LH   :005:

I've seen Lincoln, not a bad film, haven't had the pleasure (displeasure) of seen the other two mentioned though.

There's been some really rubbish films over the past few years, and the good ones are getting too few and far between, imho. Does Barry Norman still do his stint on the beeb at all? Surprised to hear that old Winston getting involved in a rubbish film though, always liked the lad, even if he does support the porn star cheats with an undeserved passion.

Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Slight twist of the thread.
For me he completely ruined the Les Miserables movie.
Not his fault but he can't sing so why cast him in one of the biggest male
vocal roles of a film in many years ?
Colm Wilkinson (and a plethora of others) are hard acts to follow, at least Hugh Jackman
and Anne Hathaway can sing
The worlds most popular musical ruined I'm afraid.
Ali G was OK but it missed Alan Arnstrong.
Disgruntled Les Mis 'freak'
He was good in 'A Beautiful Mind' though

Hugh Jackman cut his teeth in musicals. He appeared as the lead in Oklahoma on stage before doing X-Men and finding superstardom.

I sound just a little dodgy Mr Logic? I must be losing my grip. Old age does that to people. Lincoln was long but I enjoyed it and I saw Captain Phillips recently on DVD and enjoyed that. The fact that as some have mentioned it wasn't totally accurate never bothers me that much anymore.

rogerpinvirginia - Russell Crowe can't sing but I can't say it ruined my enjoyment of Les Mis. Although as I said on another thread about films. I tend to like most films nowadays.

Ah Russell was good in Gladiator, one of my favourite films. Though I think Joaquin Pheonix performance out shone him
